A huge congratulations to the South African lads Dernbach and Trott for such an inspirational showing.
A nice cameo from Kieswetter who kept well also.

And also to the best player of the game Irishman Eoin Morgan.

Cheers Webel, whereabouts in Ireland is London? I could only find Londonderry on the map.

Ireland is a completely different country.

    London is in England.

London did win an All Ireland once....but they didn't move it here<ok>

    Glad I can help.

Sensational fielding from Dernbach. Just a brilliant run out.

Trott showing his British bulldog spirit and playing on with an injury.

    His parents are Irish?

Well done to Irish man Eoin Morgan and South African Craig Keiswetter for finishing off the good work of South African Trott.

Trott: English parents, born South Africa = South African.
Webel: Irish parents, born England = Irish.

    Those double standards.

    Oh I see.

It would be double standards to make that comparison were my parents English and I then chose to represent Ireland.....but they ain't

Jonathan Trott's family are South African. His mother played Hockey for South Africa. His father also played Hockey in South Africa.

Jonathan Trott represented South Africa. I am sure those were proud days for him when he represented his country. Obviously national pride is not a huge thing in the genes. His brother played for the Netherlands.

Maybe you could have talked about Craig Kieswetter......nope. Nothing English about him at all.
Same with Eoin Morgan.........Andrew Strauss.....Peterson et al.

Matt Prior is at least half English though<ok>

So no. No double standards at all.

The important bit is that he represented South Africa. Was he loyal to them?

He is at least half English so has the right to decide what he wants to call himself.

Whether he was disloyal to South Africa is by the by though I think we all know he opted for England as he thought he'd stand a better chance of getting in the team. His family moved (back home) to England ten years ago when he was still a youngster.

Strauss moved to England aged 5.
    Pietersen has an English mother.
Prior has an English father and lived here since 11.
    Kieswetter has a British mother.
Dernbach moved to England aged 14.

All have at least some justification in turning out for England.

    Morgan? It's a Welsh name...

I don't actually care, I am just stirring based on Paddy Med Dog's insecure notions of nationality. I can't define what they are. They do that for themselves.

They can be what they want and call themselves what they want. I do like exploring it though.

Guys like Lennox Lewis throughout the Olympics was cheering team Brijamada. He is comfortable with that and that is fine.
