James Anderson is a doubt for England’s first Test against South Africa due to a calf injury.
Anderson has bowled just five overs so far during England's winter tour of South Africa, all of which came during a non-first class game against an Invitation XI in Potchefstroom in December.

Chris Woakes will replace the injured James Anderson in England's bowling attack when the four-match series against South Africa begins in Durban on Saturday.
Warwickshire's Woakes will play his first Test match in 16 months, after Anderson suffered a calf injury.
Alex Hales, 26, is set to make his Test debut and will be the eighth opener to partner Alastair Cook since 2012.

Will Alastair Cook ever win another toss? England inserted on a Durban pitch that's going to do a bit especially in the first session

AB de Villiers has confirmed he wants to reduce his workload across all formats of the game as talk about his future swirled amid a report that he was considering retirement from Test cricket. De Villiers was responding to a story in the Rapport newspaper which claimed several former team-mates and friends revealed that de Villiers was contemplating quitting because of unhappiness with the South African system.
Keeping wicket can't be helping this either - especially as he has a back condition that he needs to manage

South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn is awaiting the results of a scan after injuring a shoulder on day three of the first Test against England.
The 32-year-old pulled up soon after lunch, two balls into his fourth over.
He returned to bowl three more deliveries but, after a failed review against England batsman Alex Hales, he left the field once more.

South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn will not bowl again in the first Test against England because of a right shoulder spasm.
Steyn left the pitch mid-over twice on day three and was taken for scans but they showed no sign of a muscle tear. The world's top-ranked bowler had a morning fitness test at Kingsmead but again felt discomfort.
The 32-year-old will have more tests to see if he will be fit for the second Test, which starts on 2 January.

This is a really decent match. I've been following this and the Aussie vs windies game.

Du Plessis had been really dogged but got out to Finn late on puts England right in the box seat.

    Finn is absolutely flying.

The contrast between the two games ( Aussies totally dominant) is stark.

The West Indies could only get 6 wickets in the match... Shocking really. They are ****ed whilst many of their better players are playing in the big bash.

Yes West Indies cricket is in disarray - I do like Holder but he's stuffed without Gayle, Bravo, Russell, Pollard, Narine etc etc

Would be nice to get DeVilliers early tomorrow

South Africa have called wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock into their squad for the second Test against England in Cape Town providing a clear indication that AB de Villiers will be relieved of the gloves following the 241-run defeat in Durban. Chris Morris, the quick bowler, has also been brought in to bolster the pace stocks following the injury to Dale Steyn.

South Africa's depleted pace attack has been supplied with further reinforcements after Hardus Viljoen was called up as cover for Kyle Abbott ahead of the Cape Town Test. Abbott suffered tightness in his left hamstring during South Africa's heavy defeat to England in Durban
