Hi folks. I hope you'll excuse the intrusion on your thread. I've been looking for a suitable place to congratulate Swansea City on a fine season. Unfortunately, in doing so, I'm aware I run the risk of ridicule from both sides of the great divide. But what the hell, I'm a football fan and I've decided to grow a pair and run the gauntlet of having the audacity to compliment another team. There have been accusations of envy on here, so let me hold up my hand and say guilty as charged. Yes of course I'm envious of where Swansea are now, and yes, like any other one eyed footie fan, I live in the belief that it should be us. However, to try and live in denial of the real facts, is both cowardly and definately demonstrates a lack of class. I'm not just envious of where your club is, I'm also envious of the way you got there and the way your guys play the beautiful game. In other areas of life, I always advocate that envy can be turned into ambition and the people you are envious of can be role models. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to try and emulate your club, but for a miriad of reasons that no fan can have control over, we've been dealt a different set of cards by those who have messed with the club in the past. So yes, I'm very envious, but most certainly not resentful. As I said earlier, I am a football fan and to be resentful of a club who have got where they are in such a principled way, would be crass in the extreme. The other thing is that most of your support will be Welsh just like I am. So, when we're not playing each other, why can't I wish you well as fellow countrymen. No, I'm not trying to get into bed with you guys, and I hope to high heaven that we can overtake you again, but for now, I wish you continued success in a league which as evidenced by the clubs who are challenging at the top, is getting stronger. Enjoy the rest of your season........I'm sure you will.

Without moving this thread too far off topic, (I can't actually remember the topic ), you have to admit you are taking a moral high ground on an issue that is the same on both sides. How often has a Swans supporter jumped on our board and tried to make an opinion sound like a widely acknowledged fact and then failed to produce any support! It is part and parcel of a forum. How many pundits would you want? If you were given three, you would say that is not enough but when you support your own case I bet one is plenty Then you may argue that pundits are the last people to listen to anyway, I would Clingo, nice post. As you well now, nobody will give you any grief on the Cardiff board for that comment.
