Last season also included Dec to May.

In the article it says that the poor performances of BPL clubs in the CL in 2009 - 2010, that's 3 seasons ago, is proof of how poor the 2010 - 2011 league was. However 3 BPL teams reached the last 8 and United were runners up in the CL last year which makes the article look non-sensical in hindsight. If those links were the best siambluebird could do then it really says something.

Why do you think things are going to be much better next year?

    agree 100%

For every Arsenal that are doing a bit worse there's a Totenham doing much better. These things even themselves out.

If United and City are still battling it out for the title with a couple games to go then all the sour grapes and negativity will be forgotten and this will be remembered as the best season ever.

Nothing really changes from season to season IMO , except where strengths & weaknesses lie in the table itself . Top , medium & bottom groups change most seasons . We have a very weak bottom group this season but had a very strong one last season . The mid table group is large & strong this season & were fighting for top dog of mid table , top is an average season imo . The whole concept of this argument is flawed by huge variables & intangibles . Were here " And were lovin every minute of it " . I'm actually enjoying some of the " attempts " by some to lessen our achievement between the lines , says more about them than us frankly

Agree totally with Dai, just look how much stronger Newcastle, Spurs and a few others have been this season. Everyone is gradually catching up with the big boys, bloody hell we beat Arsenal and Man City and have taken points from Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea. Funny how everyone sees us as a breath of fresh air and an enhancement to the league, with one notable exception of course.

Spurs sold out their tickets for Sundays game weeks ago, I'd take that as a compliment too and remember how highly Harry Redknapp spoke of us after the game at the Liberty? He's not a pundit, he's the favourite to be the next England manager so I reckon he knows a thing or two about football and the Premier League. I haven't heard him or the likes of Fergie saying it's weak this year.

Fair enough my mistake not reading it all XD

I think things are going to get better for a few reasons.

    1. Utd have been incredibly unlucky with injuries to key players and they have a lot of very good youth on their team. These players are only going to get better (Jones, Smalling, Cleverley etc).
    2. It looks like Wenger has realised that he's going to have to spend on some real quality this year instead of buying a load of bargains. I have a feeling RVP will stay and him and Podolski, as well as others in the team maturing such as Oxlaide-Chamberlain.
    3. Swansea and Norwich themselves have a nice platform to improve and attract better players.
    4. Similarly with Newcastle and their new strike partnership who will just get better and better the more they play together.
    5. Man City have improved every season since their big takeover. I don't think any of their current first XI has any links with moves away(??) and once again they will gel the more they are together.

Still unsure about where Chelsea will be going from here and it's an unknown with Spurs with the obvious links with Harry to England and Bale away (especially if they don't hang onto the CL places)

Also for those others who may think that I'm trying to belittle your achievements, I'm not and you'll just have to take my word for it. I'd have this opinion whether you were in the PL or not.

Agree with you dead_passive - have been following this thread and the Cardiff posters have been pretty fair on the most part and put forward some good arguments. I myself failed to see how a criticism of the EPL was a criticism of Swansea or Norwich. I am undecided myself - agree that the Premier teams were pretty rubbish in Europe this year; but does this necessarily mean the Premier League itself is weaker? Everyone has their own opinions and that is the strength of forums like these; some (from both sides) just seem to be a little over sensitive! ;) <cheers>

I have to say Dead Passive that that's a really top notch assessment on your part and one that's hard for any sane person to disagree with.
