http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/kyrgiakos-leaves-reds Liverpool FC this afternoon confirmed that Sotirios Kyrgiakos had left the club and joined Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg. The Greek defender made 49 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals, after signing from AEK Athens in August 2009.
my view has to be thus; 1 take way 3 goals in the games he played and the aerial threat from set pieves. 2. now how good was he? my view is therefore thanks for you time, we paid you well for it, you gave your best but in the end you were a bit of a liability..... i'm happy but do feel the position is exposed in terms of cover due to injury prone players.... either we buy or kelly and wilson come in. don't see it in a bad way here
The only thing it can mean is that a new centre back is on the way in,I don't think Kenny is silly enough to leave us short. Kenny said previously that the chances of players coming in would depend on whom goes out, however he also said he didn't have to sell anyone. Kevin Doyle is a player I like, and would benefit the squad, but I think a centre back is first and foremost. If we can get Aquilani and Joe Cole off the wage bill, again not that I have anything against either, then that may free up spaces for the possible two more additions. However I think Degen and Insua whom are as much use as an ash-tray on a motorbike need to be released.
Well that's now a full senior squad, thanks to Insua, N'Gog and Spearing being a year older. 1. Jones 2. Johnson 3. Enrique 4. Meireles 5. Agger 6. Aurelio 7. Suarez 8. Gerrard 9. Carroll 10. J Cole 11. Maxi 14. Henderson 15. Aquilani 18. Kuyt 19. Downing 20. Spearing 21. Lucas 23. Carragher 24. Ngog 25. Reina 26. Adam 28. Poulsen 32. Doni 37. Srktel -- Insua That's 25 by my count. Looks like it's sell/loan-to-buy from here on.
That one came out of nowhere.Didn't hear anything about it. Anyway good luck to him but he isn't the type of player that would fit into the new Liverpool. Can only assume a new Cb is on his way.
By my count,we're also over the home-grown quota by two. We've got 10 and the number required is 8. If we let Aquilani go and get Gary Cahill in the ratio will be 11 home-grown and 14 over-seas. If Mereiles goes and we get Daniel Sturridge and this is just a rumour it will be 12-13.
What does this mean for... please log in to view this image Although there are rumours about that 20 year old South American, Coates? Haven't seen him play but he seems highly rated.
does hendo count as senior? hes 21 so im not sure. But anyway, if aqua leaves thatll free up a space, otherwise we could also leave out poulsen as weve got enough cover there
I will truly miss soto, he terrified me, even when i was sat at home god forbid what it did to the striker seeing him running at you.
Good spot. I'm now not sure whether it's 21 or under, or under 21. I suspect it's the latter, so my earlier statement about Insua etc. being older is superfluous. They're all 22 now. Yes, we can leave out Poulsen, or anyone else indeed, but he'd be sold in such a case and for a considerably marked-down price.
