Aw, I was looking forward too winning a game in the second half of a season... Guess we'll have to wait until next year <wah>

Good grief. What was the point? Why could they not have said, instantly and immediately, that Carver would steer the team through the rest of the season?

Probably thought they could get someone in straight away, then realised that very few people are prepared to work under the conditions at the club. They're buying themselves time. Hoping Carver does a good job so they can appoint him permanently at the end of the season. The usual gamble.

1 draw in 4 matches and we have 3 away matches in the next 4. Relegation fight on the way. If Carver had any guts he'd have told them t stuff it if he wasn;t considered good enough for the fll time job.
I hope this means the new coach will clear the lot out in the close season. Just wish we knew who the prefered person was and have him tied to a pre contract.

Who is to say Pardew wouldn't have taken us down anyway. We were falling apart when he left man. A rat deserting a sinking ship.
Oh well.
I expected Carver to stay in charge so will now place my relegation bet.
Carver is as bad as Pardew in my book.

No way of knowing for sure, but Pardew's record suggests we would not have went down. Indeed the most likely scenario would have been comfortable mid table. Probably had a bit of a run of wins at some point when we got a few back from injury. A **** run when we had players out. That was the general run of things with him. He over achieved overall position wise for me. Even his most ardent haters would have to accept that overall our league positions were at least in keeping with our squad quality.

This is entirely predictable.
It will be squeaky bum time for the rest of the season.
We will probably be fighting with the Mackems for safety now.
I personally think Carver should have been disciplined for abusing the Toon fan that time when he wanted to fight him.

Pardew left to go home and work for an ambitious owner.
The haters didn't 'hate' in the weeks leading up to his departure so his relationship was actually on the up when he left.

Yep, impossible to argue against, with the ludicrously excellent 5th balanced out by the rather poor 16th!

Still seems a really poorly judged gamble. Staying up is worth 10's of millions. "Selling" Pardew for £3.5m and only replacing with John Carver seems like bad business. One of my issues with it is we already seem really stretched in every department, particularly back office. As I've said before, people seem to get promoted, but not back-filled, and others seem to leave without being replaced. We're almost running a semi-pro outfit, does anyone know what our main staff looks like against, say, Boro?

Would rather have Carver for 6 months than Pardew for another 6 years.

We won't go down. We need 4 wins and we could get that without even having a manager from the 16 games we have left.

Jobs for the boys at its most base, hideous and disgusting form. We all knew it would happen, they bumble around for a month pretending to look for managers but the reaility of it is horrible and probably dangerous as we are in relegation battle now, make no ****ing mistake about it. We all know we could have got Garde but they didn't want his staff, on no, that would limited compensation for the pond life and parasites that is messrs Carver Stone and Woodman. What a pack disgusting vaginal wart bastards they all are.

On the other hand if Carver somehow gets the required points and finishes 16-12th there will be alot of talk about 'still looking for a manager' in the summer and 'best candidates still being looked at' when half way during August **** Carver with his medicore record and small dick gets the full time job and you can put the ****in mortage on that happening.
