DC has Apologised for the Chesham game. I haven't listened to it or read it as I ain't interested in it. He needs and the players need to prove they are sorry in their next set of fixtures. Anything short of a run of impressive results and performances will not be acceptable.
 
Totally agree with you. We've had some upsets throughout the season but thanks to our excellent away form, we continue to buy the same old excuses and give the team the benefit of the doubt. Sunday's result however was the pits, and its hard to find any excuses or reasons for such a devastating performance and as CJS says, nothing short of a sustained run of good results will make up for it, and to be perfectly honest, I cant see that happening! It seems to me that our weakness all round, and especially up front has finally caught us out and surely now is the time to address the situation. I'm afraid to say that our home performances have shown us to be no better than many of the Conference sides we played last season, and worse than some of them!

Sunday just showed how poor and weak our team is..
Again and again and season after season we struggle to score goals yet nothing is done about it?
I find it incredible that the fans still follow a club that have under achieved for so long and been mismanaged at the highest level to point that Higgs and co are taking the fans for granted and basically taking the piss of all of us..
Lie after lie, yet the loyal gas heads still turn up in there thousands week in week out even when we are subjected to a complete load of crap!!
In a way it's criminal how rovers fans have been subjected too over the years!

I suggest Higgs stumps up some serious money and bring in a striker who knows how to score goals! Not a cheap option either!!
At some point we need to see a major change in commitment and ambition from the board.. This last game should be a huge wake up call to all concerned as this continuation of rubbish we keep being served is and can't be acceptable anymore..
TBH the best thing that could happen to this club is for the board to get out and sell up!!! I hope the rumours are true that a consortium is ready to buy the club and not only pay for the new stadium but also put money into the squad! If not we will be no more than a conference / div 4 club... Always!!

Ps, before anyone jumps on me saying but we are 12th and have the best away record in the league, I don't disagree but for how much longer? Still does not get away from the rest of the problems I have pointed out.. UTG

I just remembered what happened last season. old timer was our jinx for home matches and so stayed away from the mem. Now this season olt timer has been watching us again at the mem. The jinx is back!

All jokes aside, I may give Saturday a miss. Can't put myself through it. May change my mind though come Saturday.
 
Would be nice to see the board recognise the loyal support.
How about the odd game price being slashed by half price.
Just as a token
And season ticket holders get a free pie and drink.
Not going to cost them the earth and I'm sure would go a long way with the supporters.
 
Or at least do away with these ridiculous 'Category A' games for the rest of this season, I've never heard of so much rubbish in all of my life at this level of football. It's the clubs gig afterall, it is not mandatory for the fans to attend....... as we may very well witness this coming Saturday !
 
The strikers didn't look confident, which was strange. It was as if they didn't want to take responsibility. If they had taken things by the scruff of the neck they would have scored without doubt. At times like that you want your most experienced players to step up to the plate. I've got my doubts about Easter.
 
Loosing was a dissapointment but our manager seems to be frightened of doing something different. He was, prior to the game, mentioning Lucas, and I was desperate to see him playing during the secondhalf as i am sure he was capable of being impressive.
We now have to wait further.
 
This thread is all a little bit of an overreaction IMO. The home record is abysmal, there's no getting away from that, and the team certainly does deserve criticism for a defeat such as the one on Sunday, but the team we have is very united, strong-willed and capable of great things (away record, promotion etc). So they deserve our full backing.

If we win at Southend tomorrow night and again on Saturday it will all be forgotten about to an extent. Players are only human beings at the end of the day and so are capable of losing to non-league clubs. Exeter lost to Warrington last year and only just missed out on the play-offs. Imagine how Derby felt after we beat them all those years ago.

On a separate point, does anyone think that having Sinclair on the pitch is hindering us at home? He seems to be one of the first names on the teamsheet now for DC, but I feel that at home we really need to take control of the midfield a bit more and as Sinclair - though he possesses a decent football brain - is not a ball player and is often caught out of position, it might be worth dropping him to the bench when we play at the Mem.

I'd have no issue with him starting our away matches, of course, but it's just a theory that I've developed after seeing our last few home games.
