Webb stood head and shoulders better than the majority of referees. The game will be far worse for his absence.
 
Ref`s used to be old bald and blind , also their physique was not the same as the modern stocky ones so it is a surprise to see him hang up his little black shorts at his age.
 
Really? The s**t he has had to put up with over the years I be the couldn't move upstairs quickly enough.

Having footballers run their mouths at you every time you make a decision they don't agree with sounds bloody awful. Fair play to those who do it.

I'd say Howard Webb was more burly than stocky. <whistle>

One of the better modern refs, sad to see him go.
