    Keane's Record : Played 81 Lost 29

    Jewell's Record: Played 42 Lost 19

Keane lost just over a quarter of matches and Jewell so far has lost nearly half!

Not much of an improvement is it?

We are not just talking about a change of manager but a change of CEO from a football background who will sort out this club from top to bottom. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is not an option but a wholesale reform of the club with a coherent plan for the future.

Trying not to get involved in a Keane vs Jewell debate but Keane had an embarrassment of riches and completely f****d it up, it takes someone pretty special to do what he did to our club. Jewell was let with a squad which was in pieces and its still a mess but Keane broke something which wasn't broken, Jewell is currently trying to fix it but struggling!! So comparing the records in unfair IMO. We've performed better under Jewell than we ever did under Keane but at the same time under Keane we wouldn't have lost the games like we have, because we were so defensive and negative.

ptc It is the manner of some of these defeats under Jewell that really causes concern. Under Keane we lost by the odd goal on numerous times but never humped like we have been during the last 11 months. Jewell's win ratio is slightly higher but so is the total goals conceded. 33 Goals conceded so far in the league this season which is largest number in the Championship!

Please point out these riches as i recall Magic got sacked because we where going nowhere under him and the squad was pretty average at best, i honestly can't recall an embarrassment of riches!!

JWM is true the manner of the defeats is the biggest concern, although the worst ITFC performance I have ever seen is the Newcastle match!!

Spanish what I'm trying to say is Jewell has had a much harder job by a long shot than Keane ever had, and the scenarios are different. The job Jim had done at Ipswich did not really hinder the job Keane had to do when he took over. Whereas the decisions Keane has made have really effected Jewells reign so far.

Jim left because things had got a bit stale but he left us in good shape unlike Keane. We had a good fairly settled squad which only really needed tweaking, adding 2 or 3 players to really push on. The squad had already had about 10 million spent on it and then Keane spent a further 12 million on it and completely f****d it up, to me that is an embarrassment of riches in the championship. When Jewell came over our squad was a shambles, with alot of the players not worthy of a place in the championship and alot out of contract, we needed at least 11 players over the summer just to compete.

The season Keane took over if he made the right choices could have easily been one which saw us in the playoffs as we didn't need major changes, this season was always going to be a difficult one because we needed and still need wholesale changes.

Same old posts, regurgitated day after day. It's like some people on here have their replies saved on a template to save them typing. Can we please stop with the boring Keane versus Jewell saga and concentrate on how best to move FORWARDS instead of talking about the past. As JWM said, we need to look at the whole club and make a long term plan. The whole wanting to reach the prem at the earliest possible moment is not working.
With regards to records, although I hate losing I would rather win 23 matches and lose 23 matches than draw 46. 69 points versus 46 is a bit of a no brainer.
I don't even know why I just typed all of the above as I've already SAID IT BEFORE. :emoticon-0118-yawn:

I think we have pretty much exhausted this thread. Lets wait and see what Tuesday night brings but one thing is for sure, if we lose again, Jewell will need a rather large tin hat for all the flack that will come his way! <ok>

An exellent point. Lambert has, quite rightly, got all the praise for our rise from a worse position than you are in at present but look at the background. We had just got rid of a CEO who knew nothing about football and was responsible for hiring Grant, Roeder and then Gunn and replaced him with a CEO with a Football background who fired Gunn and raided Colchester for PL who he knew from his days at Celtic. Despite the local rivalry I am sorry to see what is going on at your club especially as I thought that you were going to have a decent season this year.

Based on losses its the complete opposite ! Jewell would be on 83 games / 37 losses compared with Keane's 29 - Though that 29 figure surely cannot be right can it !? We lost 9 in 11 with Keane etc !

I did this the other day - these are LEAGUE games only:

    PJ:

    Played 39, lost 17

    Win 41%; Lost 44%

    Keano:

    Played 72:

    Win 31%; Lost 36%.

    Madge:

    Played 136:

    Win 34%; lost 35%.

Ergo, if PJ had had as many games in charge as Keane he'd be on 32 (26 for Keane) defeats having totalled 8 points more.

I leave you to decide whether we are or were a bigger national laughing stock under PJ or under Keane.

Not starting an argument and therefore will not be adding further comments to this point but..
We got rid of Jim because we had a decent squad that everyone said was underperforming. RK then spent over £10m on improvements which at this level is an embarrassment of riches. Unfortunately the majority of his signings were either useless or didnt work out. To reitterate we signed the likes of Fulop, Edwards, Leadbitter, Priskin and Scotland under Roys control. At this level that is a major outlay and other than newly relegated clubs with parachute payments, I would suggest can only be matched with the new Leicester regime.
