Thanks for all the info, now i'll start trawling through the areas for property. Off to the swimming pool, followed by a nice cold beer,it's such a hard life out here.
Moorside, Hall Farm and East and Middle Herrington are all lovely areas of the city in which to live. I would also add the new part of Ryhope near to the hospitals (pricey mind) and just outside the city, Seaton in Seaham is also very nice.
If I was to move back I would look at Seaburn or Fulwell. I lived in Whitley Bay for a time (which is north of the tyne) and it was quite nice, its gone down hill more recently though, I think Seaburn is much nicer if you want to be near the beach. It really depends what your priorities are.
You're jealous he's coming home aren't you? We can read between the lines, it's quite understandable.
I'll be returning home eventually, so it'll be Fulwell or Roker for me... Fancy doing a nice Thai resturant some-where..Probably not city centre.. Proper Thai food, cooked by Thai's, not by someone who went to a catering college.
I've still gota place in the North East my good man, if i ever miss the cold wet and Greggs i'll be back
Sunderland born and bred, now live in Ellington, northumberland, 20 mins via the Tyne Tunnel to Red house, Millfield lad, easy living, no thugs, no bandits, easy to commute, great pubs and clubs in Ashington and surrounding areas, great shopping all over realy, Blyth,Crammlington, easy for the Metro center, airport etc etc. great to go to Sunderland, and like Newcastle, a relief to leave, nobody tries to break into my house or steal my car, and before the joyriders join in, had my house in General Graham st , burgled three times, and two cars stolen, Ellington, by the sea there is no **** that cant be handled. but if its Townie life you want, and want to experiance it at its best, Pennywell, if there any houses left erect, Hendon is actually up and coming. came a long way from its supposed bad past, I like hendon, history and pubs. town center appartments expensive, but if you like a larger house, the Elms. or The Oaks, off mowbray road are decent for the money.
Try Farringdon mate, and if it doesn't work out you can always emigrate to Thorney Close, watch out for the cowboys and indians from Pennywell though.
