They are the words of Mark Colvin, but not a "view". He is stating a fact.

I didn't apologise because you didn't make sense. You can't quote a link which has no relevance to what you say and make out it is proof.

Can you quote a passage that says that Aboriginals are not human?

Well I have to disagree. I think it has relevance and I think it backs up my assertion that Australia is not a good example to be quoting when it comes to the subject of treating the poor and the oppressed. If you think they are a good example, then so be it. I'm obviously not going to convince you otherwise.

I need to depart Gentlemen. I have rallies to attend, donations to make and so on. It's been interesting.

So you say that Australian law didn't treat Aboriginals as human until 1967 and now when you can't justify it you backtrack to say: "Australia is not a good example to be quoting when it comes to the subject of treating the poor and the oppressed."

This thread has been given a lot of leeway, it obviously breaches the no politics rule and I'd normally have closed it a while back, I think I probably should have done.

After the transfer window closed and with the international break there hasn't been much Hull City news and views.

Completely irrelevant when it comes to breaching the rules.

I think it's been interesting and for the most part civil, but I think the actual topic has been talked out and it's drifting now, so reckon it's about time to end it.

Then it shouldn't have been allowed to start. What's the point in having a rule if you are then going to break it?

I thought geneticists proved the overwhelming majority of white British people can claim descent from the prehistoric Ancient Britons who were hunter-gatherers and lived here over 7,500 years ago, with people from Yorkshire and rural areas on the eastern coastline having significantly more Germanic blood because of the Anglo-Saxon and Danish invasions?

We made an exception for the general election and it went reasonably well, if there a significant event that people want to talk about then I think it's reasonable to allow some leeway, but on this occasion it hasn't seen the same level of restraint shown.

    Time to pull the plug.

The rules are flexible, after all, theh're largely determined by posters, not admin. On occasions a topic crops up that a lot of people want a say on, but that falls outside the normal rules. It seems reasonable to have the discussion and let people voice their views.

I'll leave it open a little longer to give you the opportunity to reply, but unless a reasonable argument's offered, I'll be closing it (unless another mod already has <laugh>)
