I have to admit, I was a little hasty writing off our £5.5m striker Famara Diedhou (or Dave as he's known around our section of the ground!) and I have previously been very vocal about giving players time to settle in, so my apologies Dave. He's scoring for fun now and his confidence is visibly growing by the game and I love the way he celebrates his goals with passion, it clearly means a lot to him to score for the shirt. I still think he can be a little lazy sometimes and he doesn't use his obvious strength to his best ability all the time but he is growing on me by the game! As is Josh Brownhill and Callum O'Dowda and Jamie Patterson. I have always been a vocal supporter of Pack as well but he has looked off the list 2 games, its really nice to have Brownhill coming in and be visibly on the up each game. Long may it last!
Just shows how much fitter you need to be to play in the championship, as opposed to french second division. Improving game by game that's all you can ask for. Still think we need to add a quality midfield general in the January window.
So who are you dropping tofit this midfield general in? Speaking to someone after the game v Derby he was at a Q&A by LJ who said. A commanding midfielder is hard to get, they might not cost too much in transfer fee's but normally a stand out championship midfielder want 30-40k a week.
I would agree Red Hub if we are genuinely close to doing something, I would also say ride the wave and get the best quality striker in we could! This was a mistake in 2008.. didn't invest when a real opportunity arose!
Even a top quality loan signing. If we don't go up, we don't get lumbered with massive wages for three years.
Tiger, he doesn't overly impress me either mate. he's not a bad player by any stretch but for me its an area we could improve.
I tend to agree, outstanding in our promotion year , hasn't improved as much as I thought he would , pack has overtaken him in my eyes , Smith has stood still, I'm not sure why because he has the ability. If we want to improve think we maybe need to updated .
A good loanee with a view to sign, would be the way to go in January then play this commanding midfielder with Brownhill. I don’t want one that is just that a loanee like Tammy and Leko, and if we do well with him then sign him.
I agree. Whilst I enjoyed Tammy, it was always tainted by the fact he wasn't ours, on balance I think I prefer to bring on our own talent as opposed to someone else's
Smith is an engine - but sometimes that isn't enough. The Ipswich fans rate him and said they would have him back. I like him and would be sad to see him go - I certainly wouldn't get rid 'at a shot' - I think that's harsh, however despite being a good honest worker he's possibly not top of the pecking order.
