I am getting a new car and my daughter is having my old one but is not ready for it for a few months, does anybody know if I can SORN the vehicle store it on my drive to claim the tax back then transfer the ownership later for her to tax and insure?

Amazing the difference the omission of a comma makes to the meaning of a sentence.<laugh>

I sort of knew this really and should have been more diligent, but I’d recommend you move the car up and down the drive quite regularly - just yesterday I failed my MOT on two tyres with 6-7mm of tread left, but cracks with cord showing between the treads due to settlement presumed to be during lack of use in lockdown.

It was a safety issue and I wouldn’t have wanted a blow out, but that’s £340 I won’t be getting back and could have saved if I’d been a bit more careful. Hey ho...

Are you going to continue to insure it until you transfer it?

I thought this thread was about malt loaf and he'd abbreviated the name.
