Someone should make you aware of the quoting phenomenon.

Yep , we'll agree to disagree on the penalty decision.

But do you seriously think he would give a penalty for Barton dragging Gervinho by his collar? <laugh> Not going to happen , however badly you want it.

He did go down theatrically and I didn't like that one bit , but unfortunately I have to say that had he not done that , action against Gervinho would not have been taken. Tell me one player who wouldn't have gone down.Although I'm definitely not encouraging what he did.

Excuse me if your expectations were a bit more realistic , Arsenal fans I asked a month ago were quite optimistic Nasri and Fabregas would be staying and that you would do better than just finish in the top 3.

Good we came to some kind of agreement. Somehow. Not really... Anyways , agree to disagree as you said.

Totally agree with you about the Barcelona tapping up , think it's been disgraceful but no action will be taken against them since they play the best football and UEFA loves them. Lost loads of respect for Barcelona during the Fabregas saga.

I must admit, I was ****ting myself when the referee called Barton over. It was one of those where you expect both players to receive the same treatment and although I felt Gervinho was more guilty, I was mightily relieved to see Peter Walton pull out the yellow card.

As for Taylor, that was just unbelievably stupid! Replays showed he didn't even see Gervinho touch Barton! He turned around, assumed he had been elbowed and then assisted Walton in picking out the guilty party. I found it all rather amusing to watch later on MOTD, but I doubt you felt the same way.

Song was naughty but the players sorted it out on the field. If he is banned he's banned but I'm not fussed now the game is over. It's not very nice but in all honesty it hurts someone standing on your calf (not achillies as reported) with studs, but it is not dangerous and is just a bit of gamesmanship. If seen you're off but it happens a fair bit on the football field. Barton played up then and at with the other incident but the ref got it about right with a yellow for provoking Gervino. Gervino was a bit silly/naive and he would have ended up with a yellow had he not slapped Barton. Defo a dive for me, I hate when people say "there's contact so its not a dive". That is not how it works. The contact has to be enough to send you down/impede you. Afterall it is a contact sport! He knew what he was up to. Barton should have kept out of it but it was just a reaction you get in our game sometimes because diving is not as common or as accepted as it is in other leagues. All in all the ref got it right because he could not have seen the Song incident.

Barton should be banned for 6 months, he's a disgrace to the game.
The stamping incident was grossly exaggerated because if Song had stamped hard on his calf he would have reacted quicker than he did. I'm not defending Song, he was definitely out of order but I only wish he's stamped on Barton's head instead of his leg. The Gervinho incident was definitely a penalty, even Mary Poppins agrees with the rest of the country, and Barton deliberately got an innocent man sent off by provoking him.
Hopefully if the FA see sense tomorrow Barton will be banned for the derby game but if he's playing I'm sure he'll get a warm reception from us.

How can Barton be booked for falling down after being slapped. Even a soft one. exaggerated yes. But the game was stopped and falling around is not an offence anyway unless the ball is in play and you are trying to get a penalty or something, like Gerv.
So, he should be filleted and his head on a pike for grabbing him by the shirt and lifting him up. Yellow card offence and he got one. There was maybe a shout for a pen mind as the ball was still in play then.

If you read up you will see that I have given a reasonable point of view, but seriously - **** off!

6 months for Barton? Most of the Arsenal team should have lifebans in that case. The only time that it was possible to say Barton reacted slowly to Song was when the replay was shown in slow-motion you ****ing idiot!

Secondly, that was not a penalty. Tiote has touched Gervinho. That's all. Touched. If I were to walk past you in the street and clip you like that, I doubt you would even notice!

And as for Gervinho being innocent? He couldve been off already for consistent diving. But you are not bloody innocent if you slap someone in the face, no matter how gentle!

BTW, the term 'dive' isn't in the laws of the game. Whether someone dives or not is a matter of opinion. I personally feel a dive is when their isn't sufficient force to knock the person over.

Gervinho did this. As did Barton.

However, a yellow card can only be awarded if a player feigns injury (Gervinho didn't do this, whether Barton did is debatable) or goes down without any contact (neither did this).

Barton then grabbed Gervinho's shirt and pulled him up (fairly roughly). It was worthy of a yellow card. But as it wasn't violent (officially) it was not a red.

Gervinho reacted in a violent manner (officially) and rightfully saw a straight red.

Barton should/could have had two yellows for the incident. I don't know what is meant to happen under those circumstances - whether it should be just one yellow, two yellows or a straight red but officially he committed to bookable offences.

How about that for a non-biased opinion?

Exactly, unbiased and correct with everything you said. The only other incident was the stamp witch officially is a straight red, correctly the referee didn't see it as the ball was else where so the incident wasn't dealt with and therefore the FA must take action and give Song a 3 match ban.

Vierra was a right horrible **** for years at your place and he's a legend for you lot no? I've seen Arsenal players and all teams get players sent off so when it happens its swings and roundabouts.
