    Cuteybuns.
I think we will have to agree to disagree.
I find it baffling that people lose faith while we are unquestionably improving year on year.

I'll agree to disagree with you any time - and I'll do it with a lot of respect. You argue your position well, but not like a bull in a china shop, and not like some foul-mouthed yob either. I think you're a gentleman. Best wishes, mate.

We are all cut from the same cloth and we all want the same thing.
    SAFC to flourish.

That's a damn interesting piece from Bill, and the discussion - for that is what is is - has been equally interesting and reasoned. I'm neither a BiB or a BoB, yet, there's this season, or most of it to go before I reckon I can fairly say.

Without doubt the GK, Defence and Midfield personnel are top ten material imho, it's up front that is sorely lacking, and that's effecting the balance of the team.

If the "net" spend of SB and the reduction of the wage bill is correct, then it will be interesting to say the least WHO, IF ANYONE is brought in in January? We might then see if funds are being made available or Short is managing his assets at SAFC like his other enterprises?

I think you have taken this out of context, Bruce said he was going to talk further to the medical staff to see if they thought there was any reason we were getting so many injuries, he was not blaming them for the injuries.

As for the injuries themselves I firmly believe the only thing Bruce and SAFC can be blamed for is bringing people back to quickly, I think we were unlucky with the injuries we had and Steve Bruce cannot be blamed for the initial injuries.

The above is why we have to give him a little more time. I remember the Wilkinson days and to be quite honest I think a guy that got us to 10th with lots of injuries deserves a little time. I agree 40,000 were disappointed by some results but its was a hell of a lot less times than we were disappointed under Wilkinson.

I always feel Bruce is given a harder time because of where he was born and his Newcastle ties, which personally I think is wrong.

As said before I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

I think all you folks who created this debate, are a credit to our board, all comments have been reasoned and respectfully put, and answered with respect, If I wore a hat it would be taken off to you all. wish all threads could be treated that way. nice one.

You're right, Vegas, Bruce didn't blame the medical staff. What I meant to say was that, if you look back on this board, some of the wilder BiBs were claiming that. It got to such a frenzied state around April that everyone and anyone was to blame for that run - except Bruce. Eventually, as the claims got wilder and wilder, it wore down my belief. I mean, for example, 'it's the loanees - they don't play with the same commitment as our own players'. It was rubbish - show me which of our own players were any better (Bardsley maybe being the exception). None of them looked like they wanted to be there.

I never take Bruce's origins into consideration. I think that's one of the BoBs wilder claims The lad who robbed us of the double in 1913 - he scored Villa's winning goal in the Cup Final - for example, was born and bred in West Stanley and was a lifelong Sunderland fan. If Bruce could wallop Newcastle 10-0, I'm sure he'd be over the moon.

    Best wishes.
