Agree, my cousins followed QPR just because it was their local club and they lived up the Bush. That's the way it should be. Nothing annoys me more than when I see a United or Liverpool shirt in London

That's true DL I think many 'fans' in emerging / developing countries like to be associated with success hence latching onto the big 4/6. I can't see Norwich opening a club shop in Tokyo just yet

It's proper support if you support a team like Norwich and are from Tokyo, not just a fashion statement.

The number of people I see on Twitter with profiles like:

<3 <3 LOVE CHELSEA FC & SUPER FRANK <3 <3 #TEAMCHELSEA/ #TEAMARSENAL <3 RAMSEY MY FUTURE HUSBAND <3 <3 MRS ARTETA #LONDONISRED etc and it just makes you think wtf? Do you actually support this team or is it just having a belonging that attracts you to them? It's become a fashion statement for not all but certainly some just to say you support a team.

I've always thought it's the same with United fans in this country, the number of United fans I know that have literally never watched a game or couldn't name you 5 players. They tend to have achieved little in their own personal lives and therefore affiliating themselves with United is almost seen as a status.
