FACT: on deadline day the sky reporter at WBA said that the deal for Long was dependant on WBA getting Sessagon and Anichebe.
FACT: said reporter then said that as WBA where not sure that the deal for Anichebe had gone through Clark pulled the plug on Long's transfer.
Now as said reporter was outside WBA training ground and not Hull City's where the **** do you think the information was coming from, the Man on the Moon. As someone else has said it is all bullshit to pacify Long, who will not of been a happy bunny been ****ed about like he was.
Also throws some interesting doubts about the Odemwinge debacle, very strange that it is the same club dont you think.

I imagine we paid £400,000 at least for Gedo, and I imagine his wages might be £600k a year. That's the 1 mil we were missing right there (if what West Brom say is true).

All I know is if you are going to **** someone around on a bill, you do it before you (allegedly) higher an expensive plane to fly them to your club - not after. The Club need to put their side out though...

I don't believe everything that the Allam regime spout PLT but read the second part of the statement above and not just the first. Could you see the Allam's financing that if they where not serious about the deal. WBA have form with this, I now believe that the Peter Odemwinge debacle was yet another cockup caused by WBA

it's easy to see the two clubs agreeing a transfer fee in principle then the Allams trying to restructure it in terms installments. appearance element, staying in the prem etc etc and trying to get added value out of it - it's very easy to see WBA telling them to **** off and rightly so - used car salesmen, no class

"I imagine" this and "I imagine" that.. if I found a tenner on the bus, it's not necessarily the tenner old Mr Jones was going to spend down the offie..

Unfortunately I find myself unable to believe what the Allams say these days..

    and that's a shame

I think too many have lost so much faith in the Allem's honesty that they fine it all too easy to believe the worst of them in this; fortunately, if you take the trouble to look at the detail, it was simply a transfer that didn't pan out. Move on.

just to add my two penneth, I watched on Sky right up to the point of the deadline closing, whoever says that the deal was pulled at 9.45pm must have been watching something else. Right up to fifteeen minutes to go to the close Sky reporter at scene was reporting the deal was on pending WBA getting in what they wanted. If we are to try and get LONG in January we are not going to enter into a war of words with the selling club. Those of you that constantly berate the Allams, need to just think a wee bit, I didn`t hear dissenting voices when we secured Huddlestone. Sometimes it seems they can`t do right, hidden agendas seem to reappear at the slightest drop of the hat to have a go at them. we`ve spent over £11 million since the end of last season, for me that`s more then I ever could have hoped, once we shift the likes of Prossy, Maclean, and probably Fryatt then I would suggest we`ll re enter the market in January. For me they have supported the manager as best as they could, if they tried to re negotiate so what ! Sadly the Allams don`t have the money that the the big clubs have at their disposal, and we can only operate within our means.

I don't think anyone's blaming the Allams, or having a go. Certainly not for trying to get a deal done at a cost definitely affordable to the club. If anything it's commendable, considering what the club endured just 3 years ago.

The second part wasn't relevant to what I was saying. I was just highlighting the obvious desperation by a lot of posters to believe whatever version of events puts the Allams in the right. Regarding Long, god knows what happened. Why would we spend £10k on a plane and then start messing WBA and ourselves about? It makes no sense but then nothing ever does with this bloody club at the moment.

And this name change fiasco is being used by some as a big stick to hit the Allams with and go with whatever version of events puts the Allams in a bad light. We're not in posession of all the facts on this matter, so bashing the Allams in a manner that would make a hull fc fan weep is ridiculous!
The facts we are in possession of are:
    1) the Allams spunked 50+million of their own money saving the club,
    2) they spent an unkown amount securing the best manager (I) ever seen at Hull City,
    3) they backed that manager sufficiently to secure promotion,
    4) they spent 11ish million trying to secure our stay in the top flight.

That, in my eyes, entitles them to the benefit of the doubt in this matter and outweighs any naivity in the rebrand that was probably done with the best of intentions anyway!

You're missing the point, I'm not bashing the Allams. I'm bashing those who are going out of their way to make up new versions of events just to convince themselves that the Allams/club did nothing wrong. Go back to John. Walkington's post if you missed it. He clearly just invents a radical new version of events based on nothing other than a desire to believe it. That's what I questioned. This happens on every topic where the Allams/club are brought into question.

The fact you and a few others are arguing with me just for making that point (and assuming I'm pushing an anti-Allam agenda) comes across to me as further desperation.

So if you're about to step in front of a speeding car you hadn't seen and I pulled you back, bought you a pint and a bag of chips, I'd then be entitled to chain you up and let a dog rape you in the arse?

By the way - where has the Premier League promotion money gone, if "they spent 11ish million trying to secure our stay in the top flight"?

That wasn't a personal attack on you or your opinion, but simply that sentance seemed completely opposite to the point I wanted to make.

So if I demanded you change your name by deed poll, I'd be entitled to and you wouldn't challenge it?

Your example fails at this point. You haven't bought me and can't demand anything of me.
Also, I should point out that I am anti name change and I will and have made my voice heard on this point. But I will not join in with the frenzied Allam bashing that I am seeing on this board because of it.
