Cannot see this happening, don't see us changing manager anyway, I think we'll give him till the end of the season and see what happens unless its really bad where someone with proven prem survival credentials will be chosen.
I do see if things stay stagnant and we just stay up without any real progression a randy lerner style change right at the end of the season and new manager given the summer to put their stamp on it.
Not sure why we would want / would go for someone mid season who has never managed at this level. Complete risk, you might not all love hughton or even like him but you know what you're getting and he just about kept us up last year!
My personal opinion if anyone cares is that I don't care either way at the moment, if he was sacked I would feel completely emotionless towards him, I think we've plateau'd under him but I do think he'll keep us up so can see why the board are not in the mindset of making a change at this point. I don't feel like he's taking us forward in the style of play or results wise and in the summer if things aren't improving I really feel like we are a club a progressive manager would love to take charge of, great financial stability, talented mainly young players, superb support home and away.

I'm on that naughty step also, for daring to say on twitter that I felt Hughton was negative in his substitutions again. I understand some fans booing his decision to take Hooper off & replace him with Ricky Van Wolfswinkle when many, me included thought they should of started today. Even when finding out Hoops was injured why couldn't he of used RVW & Elmander?. I personally felt Utd were there for the taking & we didn't go for the jugular.
I also keep hearing there are worse teams than us, when are we going to play them?
We need a Dominating Manager who puts fear into the opposition rather then Big them up.
Whether its Ole Gunnar S or Neil Lennon, Micky Phelan etc we need them fast before the window closes, coz when it does, our chances of attracting a Top Manager will be much lower.

I agree with most of what you say, however I'm very concerned at his ability to keep us up this season. I thought this season was the one that Hughton showed his true colours?

I have to be honest and admit I don't really have a reason other than instinct. He's done well at Molde but that hardly involves trips to Anfield and OT, so I can't argue on the basis of his record so far. Somehow I just get the feeling he is going to be a top manager because he was such a smart and flexible player.
This will give the Hughton supporters on here lots of ammunition, I know, ("what an idiot, he doesn't have any rational reason for his opinions") but I won't try and hide what is essentially a feeling behind a cloak of faux logic. In the end I think most decisions are made on instinct, anyway, no matter how much we dress them up. Lambert was based largely on DM's instinct, and I think the next manager will be too.

I can't see why the sub was negative a) it was to protect hooper and b) we were playing well with the system. Who would you have taken off and arranged the team. With the players we had on we wer eplaying better than we have in many games.,.
Yes we were playing better than we have been & were on top, however we were 0-1 down & needed to get back into the game. Utd were not at their strongest yesterday so we could of taken off a defender, as Bennett, Martin were on top imo. Either Bassong or Olsson could of gone off, even Redmond could of been spared & if Hoops was injured Van Wolfswinkle & Elmander could have come on together with Wes behind them floating.
So in a close game where we're playing reasonably well and creating chances, you wanted us to change things up with a never-previously-used 3-5-2 system? Well it's ballsy.
This is something that's irritated me for a while with CH interviews and made me wonder about its effects on the team's mindset when playing, especially against teams that we would hope (I avoid the word expect!) to beat.
Many people have said this about CH, but respecting the opposition is something every manager does. Lambert did it before every game ('they're a really really good side and will make it tough for us'). It has nothing to do with the players' attitudes.
As for replacing the manager, I've said all season that City should be aiming to finish mid-table again. The 19 points so far are the minimum I was hoping for, but I also take into account the injuries that we've had and the disruption that has caused. IMO, the quality and tactics have improved this year and we have yet to see how that will play out over the rest of the season. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect improvement each year, but I also don't think that changing the manager will necessarily bring improvement. My mind is still open.
As for OGS and Phelan, I don't feel that how a player played tells us anything about him as a manager. I think it'd be a big risk.
Take your point, RiverEnd. What is said in public when respect should be shown, & in private to get the players up for it and targeting perceived weaknesses in the opposition, is likely to be different. However, I just wonder whether CH carries this respect/concern over a bit more than some. Point is, for some reason I've noticed it more with him.
