See OGS now being linked (along with Lee Clark) to the Leicester City job.

When will it all end ?.............

I'd be well peeved if OGS became manager of Leicester. But then I have to wonder who in their right mind would want that job? The owners are demanding an instant return to the Premier league and instant dismissal if you don't look like achieving it. That's some pressure, especially for someone who isn't experienced managing in England.

Brrrrr - I'm so glad I'm a Pompey fan and not a Leicester fan.

Whoever we get we will get behind them, it is quite funny that because our owners & DL are maintaining a professional and business like silence over the appointment until they can make the announcement that people riled....I actually like the fact they seem to be conducting the whole process very diligently - and we all know how poor we've been in the past over that. I hope it's OGS because I like the thought of a different approach and influence....I will say that GW & SG are doing a sterling job so far. Karl Robinson or Mark Robins also appeal - I think the fact that Leicester are also looking has somewhat muddied the water tbh.

I simply can't understand why Guy doesn't want the position. What is his ambition within the game? He is a coach at the club, without doubt, that means the most to him and yet he baulks, at the prospect of having the top job.

    Why, Guy?

I think he said he wants to be Pompey manager sometime in the future but he doesn't want to be the next Pompey manager.

Perhaps he is settled and doesn't want to open himself up to the possibility of being out of a job in less than a year.

Radio Solent are suggesting Michael Appleton is set to be appointed as your new boss; any thoughts?

PompeyWallasey...........I don't understand the rush. Guy and Stuart are producing good football and decent results. Neither of which were happening when we did have a manager!

Totally agree. Ok the away results could be a little better, but, they are producing the goods a lot better than SC was at the end of his tenure.

guy would be a fool to take the job full time. he is a pompey hero and i would think he has a job for life one way or the other with the club. what are the chances of him lasting more than a couple of years as manager? and what happens when he's sacked? he wouldn't walk back into a nice coaching job at a club he loves thats for sure.

Fair point Ant, but. A new manager might not give two hoots about history, famous old boys etc, bring in his own coaching staff and then, instead of why Guy, it's bye Guy.

Looks like Appleton, the no 2 at west brom is your preferred solution (bbc sport website). What do you guys think about him? One of the sundays (people) said he was going to be offered £2,000 per week!! if true (and it is only the tabloids) does this point to the finances at CSI being a bit tight??
