They're all twats for sure.

I suppose as a manger you can be very easily fired and not much loyalty is shown by clubs to managers so there is not much love lost between parties.

It’s like working for the big investment banks, as I did for several years.

You soon learn that loyalty is a one way street. You’re expected to be unfailingly loyal to them, but they’ll cut your throat in a heartbeat should it suit them.

Yep, the only loyalty in football is from the fans to their club; which is why they get away with treating us in a way very few businesses could afford to treat their customers.

You can’t really expect loyalty from managers, as they know they are out on their ear as soon as results go against them.

With players it’s slightly different imo - most are happy enough to take a big payday, and the clubs still have to honour their contracts even if they play like ****; so they can afford to fulfill at least a year or so of those contracts when their parent club insists.

Dunno mate. I preferred Ronald Koeman anyway, but that’s hardly the point. We are discussing Big Sol’s career, which seems to have been mostly downhill since his trophy winning days.

I’m sure you will join me in wishing him all the best for the future, wherever that may take him.
 
Andy Cole was at Macclesfield on a part-time basis, I don’t know what happened to him though, I think he’s an ambassador at United.
