I'd forgotten about that one as I didn't know what thread the original comment was on... Tobes then linked it today <laugh>

If we still had Mourinho as manager, Ake would probably already be wearing red stripes! <laugh>

Decent player Romeu, was just never going to get in ahead of Matic and Fabregas. (and would have less chance now we have Kante as well).
Ditto with Bertrand, although I would have liked to have kept hold of him :(

So.......giz Virgil plx.......<double>

I'd rather we didn't mate, if it was upto me I wouldn't sell him even for 60-70 million. Happy enough to sign a 6 year deal last year, he can honour at least a 3rd of that.

He probably will go though for around 40-45... to you lot or City <wah>

No, what they need is for other clubs to stop stealing their best players and managers :)

Still need investment on top of that imo.

Don't believe Poch would have done much better than the current guy.

I think we have a good shout if we get CL.

I think we should tell you lot to **** right off <laugh>

We won't, but we should ;)

Still unsure if your board will spend that much on a cb... but as a Saints fan have learnt to never say never.

Impossible to say. How would he have coped with losing his best players? Was it easier to just move on? You lot will probably find out in the next couple of years or so...

Either way what does that have to do with you claiming our new owners (they never changed) had destroyed our path, when since Poch left we've been to a cup final and had European football... neither of which MP could deliver.
Sorry my mistake about new owners, just a change in who controlled the club. It is strange though that at about 3.30 pm he is saying, in the Telegraph as well as Talk****e that he is definitely staying and by 11 pm the Telegraph is reporting he will consider his position. Was he not impressed with Katherina Liebherr's commitment when he met her. She appears to have not attended many games. It is very difficult for any of us to know the real reasons for most things that happen in football these days. I don't want to fall out with you but whenever Talk****e is quoted I need to have access to half of a salt mine

Whilst I agree that talksport is a **** source, a direct quote is a direct quote.

I think Poch was told that a couple of players would be sold and the spending will be reigned in a tad, and that, along with interest from Spurs was enough for him to fancy the move.

He was a Cortese appointment and Cortese was always solely in charge of the club despite never owning a stake, while in the PL he took out 1 or 2 high interest loans which alerted Kat, and prompted her to want to restructure the board, whilst still offering him a place on it. Fair enough. He also got a bit power mad with talks of him wanting his own personal glass elevator in the middle of the new training ground to take him to take to his office etc.

He didn't want to stay unless he had full 100% control like he always had. That's why he ultimately left.

There's no doubt that we were originally an unwanted inheritance from Kat, but she has since said that she has grown fonder of the club than she ever imagined she would, probably due to her Fathers memory. Does look likely she will be selling up (at least a majority stake) in the very near future though as she's said that the club needs more investment to continue to progress which she can/will not do. Again, fair enough. Worth remembering she is no where near as rich as what her Father was on the whole. Not sure it's true that she hasn't attended many games btw, she doesn't attend all, but a fair few I believe.

I don't wanna fall out with you either mate but hope the above gives you a bit of understanding, and like I said to NSIS, all water under the bridge now really. You lot got a good manager, and we have progressed since <ok>

AIDS, homophobia, mental illness, racism, lynching... the lot
The chant was foul.
It weren't racist. He was called Judas for obvious reasons and the hanging from a tree line is a reference to how Judas died.
Personally, I don't think laughing at HIV is acceptable and being cruel outta mental health problems is sick too...there were plenty of true things about Campbell to criticise so will never understand why him being gay or not was ever an issue.
Mind you he and his family seem to have an issue with gay people as he always got offended if he was called gay and his brother did time for battering a fellow student who said Campbell was gay.

Spurs fans sang it regularly in the 00s. Go to a game.

Also continuing the race/gay theme, you sang ... He's big, he's black, he takes it up the crack, Sol Campbell...

It wasn't sung regularly ... it was sung in 2008 v Portsmouth away and some fans were arrested and the club threatened to ban anyone singing it.

The second one was sung a lot though.

Why would your auto spell function amend a word that was spelt correctly? Does it also subscribe to the theory that you're a bell end?

It does happen on my iPad. It kind of assumes the next word you want to type, whether you have spelt the actual word you want correctly or not!!

I checked it on my iPhone, the word Riposte isn't corrected to Repost .... and I think you meant 'knot' <whistle>

I was talking in general Piskie, no need to be bloody pedantic <laugh>
It does frustrate the hell out of me though, especially as I generally can't be arsed to check what I have typed!

Okay sorry mate, in general the word Riposte isn't auto-corrected to Repost :)
