No I don't think he's overreacting and I think he should walk off if he's racially abused. It will force the likes of Platini and his cronies at UEFA to actually start tackling it.

The failure to address racial and homophobic abuse in football at international level is startling. Blatter's suggestion for homosexuals at World Cup in Qatar (where homosexuality is illegal) 'refrain from sexual activity'

Either UEFA (Platini) was stupid and knew nothing of the racism in Eastern Europe, or they don't care about racist abuse. Either way, Platini should step down.

Just like GW Bush was either stupid or he lied about WMDs in Iraq. Either way he should have been removed.

    No justice in the world

I watched the Panaroma program, while it showed racism, violence etc. I don't see anyone coming back in body bags, the reason being is that those thugs were all attacking like girls. Did you see them attacking those Indian supporters? Doubt anyone is going to get killed by that. What was more funny was seeing those idiots 'training' in the woods, these right wing idiots always think their soldiers with their silly play fighting in the woods and telling everyone how a civil war is coming, same sh!t they been saying for decades.

Stop acting the fool and re-read what has been written - I bolded the text in question - trouble outside the ground. You say you get it but it is clear you don't, I have repeatedly stated throughout the thread that a police presence wont stop racial violence, police cannot be everywhere and there will be enough opportunities for fans of ethnic minorities to be attacked. So, while you mention the fact that trouble may/will flare up away from stadiums on one hand - you dismiss it on the other <doh>

And who gives a flying fcuk whether I assume someone's colour correctly or not ?! <doh> It makes no difference to my point. What it proves is, if someone has a certain opinion that suggests they may be white but they are in fact black - that person is clearly a lost soul. Any black person who can trivialise or deny the level of racism witnessed by many other black people is a bloody idiot <ok>

This is EXACTLY the point. When I see comments from certain people I can only conclude that they have NEVER experienced being racially attacked. Fine - if thats the case, but you are not really in a position to question the validity, extent or seriousness of those who have been <ok>

Jesus ! it's like talking to a brick wall dealing with you <doh>

I've already said right at the beginning of this thread that trouble is likely to flare up away from the stadiums. Where have I dismissed that ?

Also if you'd bothered to read my posts, you will have noticed that I'd said that (like SJW) that policing will be increased at the stadiums, and that it won't just be left to Polish and Ukrainian polices forces. At international tournaments, task forces from most major European nations are sent to co-facilitate policing strategies at events where fans from different counties will be mingling. It's not a fail safe, but it will be better policed than in the domestic leagues in those countries.

That is probably one of the most prejudiced things I've read on this forum <doh> Ironic, that you bemoan prejudice on the one hand, and openly display it at the same time. Like I said, you've got a massive chip on your shoulder HotHead. You need to take a good look at yourself before you start criticising others.

Although racism still exists nowadays and it is a terrible thing to experience, there are much worse things coming our way....

What colour are you Piskie ?

If you say white then I will say, how the fcuk do you know about experiencing racism as a black person in a racist country - for you to tell any black person they are over playing "racism" ?

If you say black I will say you clearly have not lived any kind of life if you think the chances of being attacked in Eastern Europe because you are black are not massively increased. I will also say, added to that, you haven't been to many or any football matches and witnessed how these fans act like rabid dogs, when football fans get together intent on causing havoc - they do. I would say you are ridiculously naive and a bit of a mummy's boy.

Either way your view is dumb. This goes for your comment about me being prejudiced. The view of one does not in this case represent the view of many and the suggestion that it does makes that person a lost soul if he/she cannot see they are in the minority.

<doh> You really are a narrow minded fool aren't you.

Firstly, it doesn't really matter what colour I am because as you've demonstrated, some black people have prejudices too.

Secondly, I've never said that the chances of being attacked in Eastern Europe aren't increased if you're black or Asian (that's you making ill informed assumptions)

Thirdly, I lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for 3 years, so I know what it's like to be an ethnic minority and subject to racial tension.

Fourthly, I've been to plenty of football matches throughout the 80's where violence was prevalent, both in the stadiums and in the surrounding areas, so I know what I'm talking about first hand.

Fifthly. How the **** can you say that someone's opinion suggests they are white, but if they are black they are a lost soul ??? That is blinkered beyond belief ! I've got black and asian friends who would laugh in your face at that comment, it's ridiculous. You are so wrapped up in your own view about what it is to be black, that you don't seem to be able to see beyond it. Most people (unless they are prejudiced) operate without colour affecting their world view. You it seems are trapped by it.

Yes - I'm a white guy and yourself?

I would also like to ask you something.. have you actually been to Eastern Europe?

Most people are basing their opinions on a ****ing episode of Panorama!! I at least have been to both these countries.

Italy for example has remained a hugely popular tourist destination despite having a long history of right wing football supporters. Why do you think that is??.. it's because although these fans DO exist they are actually a very small minority.

Also you do realise half of Europe thinks the same thing about us?? that we're a bunch of racist, drunk hooligans? it's not reality.

Just like Americans seem to think we are all like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAMfCG6nn1w

People need to be a little more open minded.

Guess what? If you go to South America you probably wont get kidknapped!! and if you go to the Middle East you more than likley wont get beheaded!! ..but if you wanna live your life in fear then that's fine.
