The scientific establishment contains a minority clique of BS'ers who effectively form a closed shop by blocking or attempting to block anyone who exposes their chicanery or offers alternative theories for certain alleged "phenomena". The BS'ers are generally scoffed at by "real" scientists, who typically roll their eyes skyward upon hearing their utterances. The politicians, who provide them vast funds to achieve absolutely nothing, are too thick to see through the BS [for example, most of the ****e about the elusive (read illusory) Higgs Boson has quietly been retracted, as have some of Hawking's earlier pronouncements about Black Holes]. Cox is a standout because of his gormless voice and naff facial expressions. It's all Allam's fault.
