That was my point Swamp. If we're not filling CCS or Liberty for Internationals, a new 35/40'000 seater stadium is a non starter, whether its in Swansea, Bridgend, Wrexham or even on Flat Holm. If it gets to that stage again, the Millenium Stadium kicks in and the FAW see the £££'s.

    <ok>

    Swamp,

Scott knew with a heading like "Soccer in Swansea, Rugby in Cardiff" it would inflate passions, and that's from a so called moderator.

When he lost the argument we had the same old we are in the Prem. better than you etc and then went off to sulk, there is a banter thread on our boards maybe this should have been on there.

The economics of the argument don't stack up. FAW can't afford to build a new stadium to only be used for football, it would be a white elephant. Swans won't move because they'd have to pay the rent.

The Millenium, CCS and Liberty are probably just about in profit. Take 20% off each of them (probably a more complex bit of maths than that but trying to keep it simple) and they'd be running at a loss.

The one to suffer most would be Swansea Council. The Millenium only has a couple of footy games a year so wouldn't miss it that much, CCS one a year at most. Take the Swans out of the Liberty and it would fall flat as the Ospreys couldn't afford it on their own. Don't see how the Swans would afford not to ground share either (despite their Premiership income).

i cant see any problem with the current standings, But i would say that any major qualifying game should be played at the millenium and all friendlies should be played in any suitable ground anywhere in wales....thats what i think....

Perhaps the Swans should speak to their landlords and the FAW about increasing the Liberty stadium seating capacity with a view to holding some internationals there. Renegotiate the rental agreement with a relegation clause to reduce rent along with a Europa & champions league to increase rent.
FAW agree rent based on bums on seat basis al la Swans ;) and the council hold concerts and other activities that generate 30k+ crowds. Realistic or pipe dream? You decide. :)

At last you admit it. You love us! (2 can play that game Ronda:emoticon-0105-wink:)

Back to the thread, agreed this was bound to raise the heckles but any thought of it happening is a no go!

Lets sort the team/manager out first, eh?

Big John would deffo have the Hwyl but he seriously lacks experience. However, rather him that Coleman! I recall reading/hearing somewhere that he gave possibly the best interview/presentation the last time round.

I don't think Hartson helped himself by seemingly politician like 'flip flop' comments over the last few days.

Who else though....should we look outside Wales?

Personally I'd stick with the current set up and see how we go.

swimaway, thats a fair point regarding Speed...and we've see how that worked out <ok>

Coleman seems to be the only name being mentioned at the moment and I don't think its a coincidence he recently decided to resign in Greece.

Think soccer has only ever been played properly in Swansea, so why not make it the capital of Soccer, and leave the Rugby to the hoofball capital of Wales, sounds about right to me!................. <laugh>

    Oh grow up.

I posted this because I thought it was interesting, then you starting picking holes in our attendance, which, considering it's been sold out every game, seemed silly and I countered that. I then went out to help my girlfriend buy a car, then played football. Sounds like I've been sulking all day though! News to me.

i alway seem to notice they always target our moderators.

i wouldnt like us to share a ground with the national side. not even if its bigger i would rather wait for the liberty to be made bigger. as we wouldnt want cardiff fans smashing the toilets up in the stadium because its better then theirs.
