I haven't mentioned anyone other than Marveaux, who is younger and a natural wide player. I mean, you would rather play a Wide player out wide wouldn't you?! Or are you a **** tactician as well as a miserable ****?

We wont be stuck with Guthrie out wide <doh> Marveaux, Obertan and even Gosling will be ahead of him for RW

Listen fecal breath I have no personal issues with yourself, however I'm not going to agree Marveaux is good enough all round to replace Joey. I now expect a left back a right winger and striker.

Midfield is one of our strongest areas with a number of players that could cover Joeys position to an adequate standard, we don't need a replacement in this window with limited time left.

Who of our wonderful array of wingers can cross, tackle, short pass, long pass, through ball or heaven forbid maybe score a goal .

We don't need them to be able to long pass and through ball. We need them to be able to run down the wing, be tricky, cross, good shot, track back, tackle and have good vision. For the creative passing we have Cabaye, HBA, Abeid, Guthrie, Vuckic etc

    Barton and that's my point.

    He needs replacing.

Why? We have bundles of talent in the youth system! Bring them through slowly. Also Barton isn't fast and tricky, he doesn't have the pace for the wing.

Ok then we don't need a striker or a left back either we have Ferguson and Ameobi.

Great we don't need anyone that's me made up.

    Well not Barton for one.

I think Barton will be hard to replace and has form, fitness and Premier league experience that Obertan, Marveaux etc. do not. However, if you think Barton was an all action, scoring, passing and crossing machine you are very wrong. His delivery let him down at times, he was rash and couldn't beat his man, don't big him up to be something he's not, he was a good player who we will sorely miss, but he's not the world beater people would like him to be.

I think nostalgia is playing tricks on you. Barton's goal scoring record was terrible. We have other players who can pass but looking at the way the squad/tactics are heading a proper pacy winger would be more useful to us.

What I was getting at was that he was good all round and you need someone like that. I have noticed so many saying hes Englands best midfielder starting to change their tune already, he's just average now.

Sammy is a winger not a striker. Ferguson is by trade a LB that has all the attributes to be a decent winger. Ferguson however has experience of playing in the prem and is already bordering starting 11, Ameobi has made a very decent cameo against Chelsea. Within a few months these 2 could be pushing for a first 11 spot.

He is definitely good all round, a jack of all trades and a master of none - which isn't a bad thing - which we will miss a lot, but is also why he worked so well on the wing, he could claim to be out of position when he had a poor game. As a central midfielder, we have 2 who are much better, but for any sort of success we need another, we have wingers coming out of our ears, but we don't have anyone good to step into the middle when Tiote and Cabaye get injured/suspended. God forbid games where Smith or Guthrie end up in the middle.

I'd be happy if we brought in Barnetta, any half good left back and a new number 9.

Anything short of this and I'm going to be very worried.

If Barton was the be all and end all, god of all things football... Then why did only QPR come in for him when he was on a free? It's not a coincidence.

Having said that, I think our squad is poorer without him, but hopefully it'll give a chance to some of the younger players to come through.

His crosses were awful when Carroll left? No they weren't! He just didn't have Carroll to get on the end of them.
