I neither love him nor hate him. I thought the same of him as a player. I thought he was 'ok' - not brilliant - not even THAT good, but nowhere near as bad as some people love to make out and I find myself defending him quite often on here, because he has taken much more than his fair share of criticism over time in both his roles at our club.
For example, I was in the crowd in the Dolman when we beat WBA at home under GJ and LJ scored the winner - some t055p0t in front of me, instead of celebrating the goal, turned to his mate beside him and said '80110x - that means he will be in the side next week'. Amazing - and rather sad really - he was genuinely p1553d off - just shows the mentality of some of the 'haters' when they would rather Bristol City didn't win with LJ in the side.
I try not to let his parentage cloud my judgement that's all.
Just for the record, I thought it was right that he went when he did (sacked as manager) - although I would have left it to the end of that season so that we could have done the recruitment properly over the summer. The way that episode was (mis) handled was unprofessional and frankly embarrassing. The football had 'stagnated' and it looked like he had run out of ideas.
However, I'm not orgasming over Pearson - to be honest in my opinion he's not struck me as being any better than LJ - certainly as far as results go - unless one gets turned on by his team's unpredictability. LJs teams became very defensive - even at home. NPs teams - well, I can't even describe his 'style', so I suppose at least there's a surprise every game - a bit like trying to guess how many minutes after 80 the final goal gets conceded!!!
