It really was an appalling performance. They wanted it more, whereas we played with a sense of entitlement. There was some improvement in the second half and Kimbo showed a bit of dog (no jokes please). God knows what's happened to Noone this season. I think is far more effective on the right, cutting in and using his left foot, but we only saw a few minutes is that towards the end of the first half. We really need to bring in some players in January. The atmosphere was appalling, football was dire, and all in all, it was all rather worrying.this is the sort of game that really gets my blue head on. Put the players back in blue shirts and watch the fans and the passion come back.
 
Just how slow can we get in midfield? Whitts and Gunnar were pedestrian and out wide Kimbo wasn't much better. Noone has the speed but something's gone missing from his game. There was no sharpness of passing like Rotherham managed, and we looked a pale shadow of top half contender.

We badly missed the energy of Pilks despite some on here saying he wouldn't be. That was an atrocious display of a lack of energy in the middle of the park - we should have lost that to a much more enthusiastic Rotherham outfit.

Another thing, although the defence played reasonably well, what was the idea of lumping practically every route one ball in the air to 5' 9" Le Fondre? Jones was off his game, but he was by-passed in favour of ALF in the first half - the ball just kept coming straight back.

All in all, another frustrating display. I can't really see where all this is going without some new blood in January.
 
Why are Daehli and Morrison parked on the bench with a display like that? Another clean sheet is the best I can come up with.
 
Let's hope those who have been calling for Kimbo's inclusion will now realise the bloke is useless. Yesterday he was the worst player on the pitch. Even he thought he was to be substituted in the second half when he trotted in the direction of the bench only to be found that - probably to his amazement - it was not him at all coming off. His dire performance was not entirely his fault. Playing him on the right meant that he had to keep checking back onto his left which meant he was a passenger throughout the game and slowed down every move that came his way. How the manager couldn't see that is beyond me. Yesterday must have ranked as one of the worst games I have attended for a very long time. The only plus for me was when Morrison came on. He went looking for the ball and looked industrious.

I was speaking to a few Rotherham lads in the hotel this morning and they felt they should have won. I agreed with them.
 
Whoops - I did say on another thread that I thought we'd miss the directness of Pilks and we certainly did. Kimbo was a pale shadow in his place on the right and I'd agree with you about where he was picked to play by Slade.

Both him and Noone are naturally left footed but Noone has been accustomed to playing on the right for a while now and cutting in on his left peg. Why on earth Slade put Noone back on the left and then expected Kimbo ot play off his wrong foot on the right escapes me.

Kimbo did have a very poor game but was little or no worse than Whitts, Gunnar and Noone especially in the first half.

The side is paceless. Whitts looks a poor imitation of the decisive player he could be and Gunnar was well off the pace. Noone had a few runs in the second half but never looked convincing. Kenwyne was a virtual passenger up front with ALF trying hard but failing.

Morrison and Turner at the back were the pick of the bunch, but had very little competition for that plaudit.
 
Fabio to play left midfield at Bournemouth. Extra cover needed to stop their very good right back Francis marauding forward. He can also do more going forward to keep Francis occupied defensively.

Kimbo was awful. How can a international with World Cup finals experience play so poorly?

I disagree about Kimbo. For me, he displayed a willingness to work hard, although it's true that there was no end result. But why would anyone expect anything else when playing him out there?

Whitts has vision and a great touch, but there's nobody with enough pace to respond to his vision.
This is a make do and mend team until we bring new faces in. However, my great worry is that the rebrand is seriously biting back at us and that there's a hardcore of fans who've left.
 
Apart from a clean sheet, a pretty good display from the back five & a point, no positive's whatsoever.

My memory ain't great but I don't think I can recall a time when its' been more difficult being a Cardiff supporter. Sure, I've seen worst teams in the past, but there's always been a kind of 'backs to ther wall', 'we're in this together type of mentality', which is sadly lacking at the moment. Half the fans in the stadium don't appear to give a sh*t, and neither do half the players. This club is a shambles at the moment.

I'm no tactical genius, but surely Connolly should have been subbed half-time (obviously injured), Fabio should have come on at LB & Brayford switched to RB. Gunnar, Whittingham, Kimbo central midfield (Kimbo playing behind one up top), Noone switched to Right. KWJ & ALF replaced with Macheda, with either Daelhi or R. Morrison brought on to left side.

Whiffle - you sum it all up perfectly, I'm afraid.
 
Only positive was the clean sheet.

A more clinical team would have scored 2 or 3.

Rotherham were the better team, more organised, more drive and pace and endeavour.

City were shocking.

Slade should have hauled off Connelly and Whittingham and Jones at half time for Fabio, Morrison and Macheda.

How could Morrison influence a game with 8 minutes to go? Our central midfield has nobody who can run forward with the ball, and pass so the forwards get the ball with their front to goal not their back.

Le Fondre showed again how poor a forward he is.

Noone has gone backwards this season, it may be the legacy of his injury but he is a yard slower and cannot cross.

Jones was so poor but why did Marshall keep on kicking the ball to Le Fondre?

I despair for the rest of the season if we are going to serve up this dross. Surely Slade can see the players who are not going to get City up.

This has to get better. The last 2 streaky wins have perhaps given them some unplaced confidence. I hope they are worked hard in training this week! They deserve no respite after that shambolic display.
 
We were absolutely ****, Kimbo was no better or worse than the other midfielders in 95% of what he did.

The 2 things I will defend Kimbo on are, he worked as hard as anyone on the pitch except Alf. He was central to the only 2 or 3 decent bits of football we played.
He needs players to play with him, you can't knock him the ball, leave him isolated and expect him to beat 2 or 3 players. The only time we looked a threat, around 80-85 minutes, was kimbo and Brayford combining on the right. He's a clever footballer, I know plenty have made their mind up though.
