Hornet in peace, and I speak as a fan of a club that has been on the brink multiple times in recent years. Morally clubs shouldn't have a choice over whether to sell in this sort of situation, but the reality is that Portsmouth did, much like Watford did in January 2010. Even with a ten point deduction, Portsmouth would still have a fighting chance of staying in this division. With a Championship club that has been in the Premier League in the recent past there is always a chance of finding a new backer. And as clubs can pretty much get away with not paying their players nowadays, holding onto the squad is not as risky as is being made out: if the worst comes to the worst they can hedge excessive wages against future transfer fees.
Actually mr spanish, this is not correct, as I said on other topics, ALL the players were asked if any wished to leave. No players wished to leave, so any enquiries that came forth were considered and then put to each player involved for their consideration..........the payers in question had already decided amongst them selfes that they were not leaving unless DL told them they had too, I beleive your club tried the "back door approach" with the administrator, who actually has no power to sell players as it is not POMPEY in admin................so basically the players excepted clubs would come in for them, but unless the fee was right for the club and the player no one was leaving...............I guess some of our players love the club more than their out right pocket............its refreshing isnt it BP BP
Very dismal story in the snooze today just confirming that Brian Howe has had no contact with the administrators and that there is no one at any advanced stage of negotiations as yet. They are still looking for interested parties and it seems we're no further forward than we were a month ago. Cala it seems at one stage was taken seriously. What hope is there The fans MUST fill the park this Saturday to show someone-anyone that WE care.
BP - a question for you. Is Lampitt trying to force Chainrai's hand by not selling therefore requiring intervention from him to keep the business going sooner rather than later? Also, you say there is an interested party. Any more news as it looked like Plan B was looking the best option.
