Mark Hughes has been given full remit to overhaul the QPR team, do we think he'll be farming certain players out on loan or getting rid of completely I ask because after watching Miller struggle valiantly last night and having to go looking for the ball I thought to myself how much we could have done with Jay for his flicks and general hold up play, I know he had a huge ego especially after his England cap but I also think his failure to make any kind of impact in the Premiership may have brought him back down to earth, what's the consensus, would we have him back if he became available ?
I think Palace played the perfect match against us, defensively they were very sound and with Whitts I believe strangely subdued we didn't seem to have another option apart from sending on Macca, all that said I firmly believe we should have come away with something.

I'd welcome him back, he got a bit to big for his boots towards the end of the season but no one can deny he his a great player at this level.

No thanks.do we really want to see more of this:

I would prefer we take DJ Campbell who also can't get a look in at Loftus.

If Malky got Bothroyd , you'd win the Championship . Cardiff got their new great passing game but Bothroyd would give you that plan " B " option . His ability to bring down the long ball when need be & classic touch would get you over the hump IMO , now getting him is another thing sussex

Thanks Cracker, tbh I think Malky would scare Jay ****less lol, considering Jay was a free agent there weren't many clubs actually queuing up to take him and Warnock was grabbing everyone he could as at the time QPR weren't spending, I think MH will probably get rid of him and a few others, can't see him going to another premier league club but it will be interesting to see what happens.

It was in one of Malky's early press conferences that he said his players would have to leave their egos at the door. One of the stengths this season's campaign seems to be just that - no primadonnas, no cliques, just working for each other on and off the pitch.

It would take a sea change in attitude from JB to fit Malky's teamwork ethics. If Malky could instill those principles into Jay (and I wouldn't bet that he could), he would definitely be a huge bonus if we could sort out his wage requirements. Having said that, it would probabaly mean a reversion to 4-4-2 with him and Miller up front - can't say I'd want to abandon the 5 man midfield arrangement that's brought us this far.

I was a big fan of Jay but when he got his cap it went to his head and his play went downhill.

I'd not take him back, too much baggage and it is very rare for a returning player to match his impact from the first time.

very true DJ, he probably has a massively inflated opinion of how good he is, he cant hack it in the PL and will be on a wage we cant afford, i know he was a good player for us but he needed to be indulged to get performances week in week out, under MM he will be expected to put in a shift every week, he isnt that sort of player..

Nobody really knows what type of attitude Bothroyd would have under Malky , but everybody would know what he brings to the club on the pitch though . Few players can turn a game on there ear , Bothroyd is one of them . As for wages , time for the Malaysians to kick in a little coin to Malky , regardless of who the player or players are . Lord knows he's earned a bit of player help for the squad

That's a bit rich, go and ask Huw to spend some money.

<doh>

You really don't have a clue, do you ?

Yes i think getting Betty back would fill a void that we have upfront, Gestede looks ok however it has to be said he is injury prone, i just think we are lucky at the moment not to have picked up to many injuries, which is testament to how MM trains the players, there are plenty of so called Premiership players who would come to us, especially the ones that cant get into their respective teams, its just a matter of getting the right ones who arent going to be a bad influence on the team, hence it is doubtful whether Betty has even been mentioned, i think MM is biding his time, i reckon we will get Noone but cannot make my mind up if that is a good thing.

Personally I would rather not have Bothroyd back as I'm sure there are more committed players out there who would put in a full shift every game. Malky has done a cracking job this season and I'm sure he'll find another forward and wide man who will fit into the way this team plays and work for each other.

My jury is out over this. He clearly hasn't set the Prem alight so there's no real cause for him to have an ego any more and I have faith that Malky would kick it out of him anyway. No doubt on his day he can turn it on and gave us some great memories but unfortunately they are now tainted by the second half of last year for a lot of bluebirds. The new lights and the improved pitch may stop him slipping on his arse so much but it's questionable (very) whether or not he has the work ethic that our present squad possess... (he would probably have sulked and gone missing after an hour at Palace)
I wouldn't be disappointed if he came back (not that it's likely to happen imo) but he'd have to work bloody hard to win over the CCS faithful again.
