Hi Durbar, yes it was me and I made a big mistake after too much drink was taken following our game with Leeds. Well two mistakes actually. The first was my inappropriate comment on your Villa thread, the second was in having you banned. ( I can't go into the details as to why on open forum.) My fellow mods suspended/deleted the thread until the finer details could be sorted out, but as I was unavailable due to work and other family reasons this was delayed longer than usual. In the meantime Beth and Tramore rightly had you re-instated. They also undeleted your thread without any 'edits' to show a degree of transparency. In the meantime we had to discuss how to proceed with this. I did offer to hand my mod tools in but that offer was refused. I have since decided to be as honest as possible and admit that I was totally in the wrong. So to sum up, I offer you my full apologies and say I'm very sorry. The next time you're over, and if you're willing to meet up the drinks are all on me. If not then I can fully understand that too. If you ( or anyone else for that matter ) feels that this response isn't sufficient enough, there are measures that you can take to have me removed as a mod on this forum. Get in touch with me, Beth or Tramore for details or see the forum rules, the process is fully explained on there. Nines
Thanks for your understanding mate. I'm sorry that this has dragged on too long, but it's quite safe to say this hasn't been my finest moment. My apologies also to Beth and Tramore for putting them in this awkward position. They have both been brilliant, all things considered.
That really is a nether world, if he's lucky he may emerge in Thames Ditton or even the 3.15 at Sandown Park...
I'm not sure what this whole thread was about, but delighted that you have kissed and made up now. We know that being a mod is no easy feat and credit to Nines, Beth & Tramore for taking on such a role completely voluntarily. They are bound to get things wrong as are we posters. Now please can we get back to talking about QPR.
Happy days! please log in to view this image Now can we all get back to the serious business of complaining about QPR and life in general...
If only politicians could do the same! Still completely mystified by this but entirely happy to be mystified!
Don't forget to mention KPI,s along the way that caused you to ban yourself. You always need to be able to explain to yourself why you were banned.
Nines, your a champion! We all make mistakes ( l do them daily ) ....... But you had the backbone to make a point of it. It is we that should be buying you a drink.
Ban myself??? What an outrageous suggestion!!! The very idea that I'd create all this paperwork for myself is preposterous. Why don't I fill in a Health and Safety evaluation for the desk too??? In fact, why don't I call up lawyers 4U to chase myself for compensatory drinks??? In all seriousness, well done to Nines for admitting to his mistake and credit to Durbar for accepting the apology. Both a credit to this forum.
9s If I am allowed to post whilst pissed the least we can expect is the mods to respond whilst pissed Maybe Minxy can sort out a symbol we can add to posts to let people know that we are posting while drunk
You are totally correct, Facta. In my work, I come across people from all walks of life and it surprising the number of people that can't admit to making a mistake. There was a contractor working for us and he would never admit he stuffed up ( he stuffed up a lot ), it was always someone else fault. I fronted him about it and said how I, we all stuff up from time to time but he continued on his silly way. He no longer works with us.
Through long experience I have found that it's always better to fess up to mistakes as early as possible, preferably before anyone else has realised they have been made. Bizarrely it earns you respect and is certainly less stressful than waiting for it to be discovered or trying to cover it up. Though possibly not if you are doing it on an hourly basis, because that would make you an idiot. Nice one Ninesey.
I agree, owning up is always for the best. Another thing I have always tried to do is to admit to not knowing what the answer was to a certain question. It's amazing how many people will just make something up. A friend has a phrase for it - 'I know nothing, but I'll tell you this ........'
