Id go along with Phil on this one also.

How many fans complained when most of the mentioned named manager were announced ( none now i suppose)? I recall many complaints about Sousa and Rogers being the cheaper options and we have little ambition.

Alan Tate states in the paper today that the turn around came when Borini signed, and if we had had him sooner we would have won the league. Lets not forget some did'nt even want to take the gamble on Borini.

This squad is still predominantly Roberto Martinez's, and it was he who signed them, it was he who got them playing the great game the right way, yes he new them, and yes he played alongside them, but it's a different kettle of fish, when you rise to manage them, but he succeeded, remember this Jager, Rodgers tried the same project ar Reading and failed, and was sacked in 3 months, not entirely his fault though. Don't get me wrong I think Rodgers is on the road to becoming a real great manager, but next season will be his litmus test, and as I've said before, I wish him every success, and you all know he was not my favourite by a long chalk, but he's won me over, not just because he's kept the legacy in tact, but he's humble in victory and gracious in defeat. some on here have mentioned the board, and yes they have worked wonders, even considering that Rodgers was right at the back of the queue, and was a late runner for the job, yet it has turned out, to be an inspiration, they must have the midas touch!.............

Regarding Dobbie, he came on a free transfer!! Bodde for £85,000, Jason Scotland was the £25,000 fee! Roberto was a shrewd mover in the transfer market(I include his back room staff in that too)......................

    Jacket - 15 %
    Martinez - 50 %
    Sousa - 15 %
    Rogers - 20 %

People give Sousa less credit than he deserves I think

I won't argue, or split hairs with you on those percentages Rhysj, if we are going back to the Jacket era. I liked Kenny, he did well considering all things, though some of his signings were not so hot! And yes agree Sousa was not given the credit he deserved, though maybe he brought some of it on himself............. <ok>

Yea, he had a bit of an attitude. Made a lot of the players unhappy.
One time he made Joe Allen cry, not sure for what. But even the beackroom staff didn't like him. Maybe we have a very clique club?

So do you not agree with the %s Phil, or do you mean you think that as well?

Yes I agree, because if I didn't I would be splitting hairs with you Rhysj, my percentage didn't take into account Jacket, because the OP, listed just the last three managers, the reason for this I think is that, we have been put on the map since Martinez was manager, and all outsiders see that as the starting point of our progress, and rise to fame, so to speak!................
