Do let me get this straight. You post a thread asking "who goes to games but don't go yourself? Hypocrite. Season ticket since 1987 but never missed a home game from 84 except for the year my daughter was born. Went to every weekend game home and away in the third division. Work moved me to Bristol then Portsmouth but still never missed a home game. You really shouldn't be asking who goes to games when you don't go to all of the home games yourself
That's top notch mate The 3rd division season was absolutely brilliant, probably my favourite. I once saw every league game, home & away, from Mansfield. It was the season we played at Stockport, in the league cup and I saw the away game but missed the replay ........ spoiled my only chance of a 100% season.
There's very few who could make all games. I'm asking who goes to games, and that could be from a few to most or all games.. For what I don't go to in home games I make up in away games. So no im not a hypocrite.
You do realise by adding 'actually' to the the title you've come across an absolute condescending ****er? Then I read you don't go to games (not a season ticket holder). Surely you can see how it makes you look a hypocrite don't you? It also makes you look a dickhead.
I have to say this is a very interesting thread for me. I mentioned, the other day, that I never considered Martin O'Neill to be a Sunderland supporter and copped quite a bit of flak. If someone posted that he 'followed' Sunderland from Ireland as a boy, simply because he liked one player, was a 'big Celtic fan' and never went to cheer on the lads in all his decades in England ............. .......... people, on here, would tell him to get ****ed. He's never come out once, as an adult, and said that he's a Sunderland supporter. We all wanted him to be, but he's not ........ he confirmed that when he said he was happy that things went to **** under Di Canio.
Yeah agreed about O'Neill. You can';t support a club and bask in it's demise through sheer petulance. I was a kid in the 87/88 third division season Smug - 12 year old - Any away games on weekends my parents took me and my 2 brothers. Only me and my Dad go now. Brothers have lost interest unless there are free or cheap tickets on the go - younger brother is having a few marital problems (she's a bitch!) so hopefully if things don;t work out then we'll have another season ticketer!!. Sad reality unfortunately. To the OP - the tone of your original post was very derogatory towards non-attenders and seemed to target people who don't go - surely you can understand the hypocrisy of this when you don;t attend every home game. I'd also query how you can attend so many away games when you aren;t a season ticket holder due to the way the points system works.
Not every away game sells out, especially in and around London (where I live).. My old man used to play with someone inside the club, so if all else fails, he often can get me a ticket or 2.
Although I have been home and away for over fifty years with a season ticket since the early seventys, work commitments reduce me to the occasional match these days.
Mate I'm the same, with living down in London I tend to get to away games in the south and visit my brother for away games in the north west. Literally seen us win once in the last 20 games I've attended.
