We did look better after Hoilett came on, but considering how terrible we were 1st half...

For me Hoilett just can't do it. Shows some sparks here and there but never consistently puts his full-back under pressure, consistently makes poor decisions and rarely finds a dangerous cross.

Fair enough mate. I know many at LR share your opinion, as Hoilett is constantly barracked by some there. I don't believe he has become a bad player after looking sensational at Blackburn. Perhaps if the crowd were to get behind him instead of undermining his confidence, we'd see that player return. He was by far our biggest threat last night (not saying much I know).

The answer is very simple re Hoilett ... just watch every team we have played double up on him ... cut off the supply and danger we are no threat ... it's respect

No chance re the crowd at LR ... infected zombies its too late

Said before NOT 606 needs to do its bit and get together to make a din ... only then may it wake up the zombies. Get the Irish lads over next time and we should try and sort it

No. I've seen plenty of him this season and the problem is his decision making, it's never good enough. Numerous times I've seen him isolate the full-back and fail to beat his man; or typically delay his cross until it's too; shoot when he should cross and vice versa.

Doubling-up happens to players all the time; the good ones deal with it.

Agree with you & DT, Henry should of been a Shoe in if fit & Tom Carol was piss poor. It seems to me it was a result a lot of people have been hanging out for to start bitching & slagging!

Paul is right, my lad is always pointing out to me that there are 2 and sometimes 3 on Hoilett. Did you not rate him before he joined us Husky?

Not especially, I've had the opportunity to watch BRFC a few times over the years and Hoilett has always been the same, more or else. Perhaps he's feeling the strain and has not peaked with us as yet. The times I've seen him play this season I see him making the same errors again and again it started at HT on the opening day and has remained constant. For me, he's an 'every now and again' type player; never performs at a consistently high level.
 
Pretty sure other teams look at Hoilett as a main threat recently I have noticed him wandering inside to get the ball ... We need to swap wide men as this then stops doubling a lot and ties up teams in a defensive pattern

We can't switch as Traore may not understand the order

Hoilett in recent games looks to pick space deep and run and against Burnley he was excellent at that ... Getting into a position wide to recievet the ball then run at them

Fans I think see him going down a blind alley but he keeps on going that's his job to get behind and deliver Yes he gets blocked off and at times he has to come backwards

His work rate is excellent IMO
As was Phillips
We looked good and balanced and they swapped sometimes

We may need the little puppy SWP back and throw a few sticks

BZ I predict will come back and we will all be raving about him he can play a bit

I think you're right. As limited as he is I think he found his level this year and was doing quite well until he was mysteriously dropped and frozen out ever since. I can only think that he fell foul of Redknapp in training and he's had the 'ump with him. I'd definitely have him on the bench to chuck on and run at tired defences. Hoilett is a carbon copy of him. Honestly, these two players were separated at birth. They both look the same and do the very same thing on the pitch; dribble all day long and then get stage fright as soon as they get near the box.

Still, they both have their uses.

I'd agree that SWP did quite well defensively, but he offered no threat in attack. Hoilett does occasionally cause a few problems at the right end of the pitch.
 
We've proved this season that we have the players to hold onto the ball and pass it about. The problem is we are creating buck all and not hurting the opposition enough. We have very few players who can run at the opposition with the ball at feet. Hoilett and Philips can do this. When neither are in the team we are very very narrow, very predictable and therefore very easy to defend.
Wingers will turn defenders, create space and stretch defences. O'Neill and Niko can't play this role IMO. Simples.
 
Genuine questions
In a 4-4-2, do you see Barton or Carroll being able to play the DCM role properly?
In a 4-4-2, do you see Barton or Carroll being creative enough to play the ACM role properly?
If the answer is no to one or both of the the above questions, then ask yourself another one,
Why are we playing these two as a centre midfield pairing?

First time visitor to this forum - excited to see all the talk about QPR.

Been a tough season to watch from Los Angeles (it seems that when we are on TV, we don't play well).

Last night's game vs. Derby was frustrating to watch.

Completely agree with the quoted assessment and one other I read from a poster names Sussex or something. There is no continuity in the midfield. As much as we want to blame the strikers - there is no consistent build-up. Almost like a teenager the first time they are hooking up with a girl, we get near the scoring zone and we just unleash the first opportunity we get. We have to exhibit more patience. Not sure if that comes from Harry or somewhere else.

I thought Hoilett made a nice difference in the 2nd half ESPECIALLY when he started passing and then making runs behind the recipient. That cleared space and forced the defense to adjust their positioning.

Quick question: does anyone else find it amusing to watch Joey Barton? I love how other teams treat him like Ron Artest (aka Metta World Peace) back in the day and try to bait him into fouls and frustrate him. It's laughable how he always falls for it. He's bizarro Roger-Federer.

Finally, maybe it's a lack of fully understanding the rules around 50/50 balls in the air - but why wasn't a foul called on the goal that Derby scored? Our guy had position was ready to clear the ball with his head when was shoved mid-air and the ball then proceeded into the net???
 
Welcome SoCal.

Most matches have been frustrating, the Derby match wasn't that different to any other, and yes SussexR knows his stuff - the mad fool goes to most matches.
