Tuned in to Radio Bristol for last night's game and wodered if I was hearing a commentary from any of the last 3 years. I thought it was time to burn the previous results in this cup competition and finally move on to the next round, and based on our pre-season results against good teams, I was somewhat excited about what we would put on show.

The commentary said eveything I didn't want to hear, including a seeming lack of desire and commitment, and we ended up in the same mess as previous years out of the competition against much lower opposition. The team sheet looked eerily familiar and with the usual result against a team that wanted it more than our lads. It was clearly obvious from the commentary that several of our players had a terrible night and I just wonder where they will get their motivation from after what was a bad loss.

Will they continue on a path of dismal results or do they have the balls to face up to their inadequacies and come back with some strength. Put in that kind of effort against Notts Forest and we could start off the regular season with a severe jolt to our confidence and who knows from there. Remember the loss at Crawley and where we went from there.

Let's hope that we can pick up the pieces and move on.
