Your love for MM warky is unconditional, whereas others can see his bad points, sorry bud but he is no god. You can swear at me as much as you like but i dont rate him and that is my opinion, get on your ****ing high horse as much as you like but i aint changing my opinion just yet!! Sorry to dare to have a different opinion to Mr not 606 Warky, i know it kinda goes against what one should do on here!!
Oh and one other thing Warky, you are doing it once again, just coming back with insults instead of actually reading the post and explaining why you think i am wrong. (you have been picked up on it many times) Am i wrong about the GK situation? Am i wrong about playing a natural RB? Am i wrong about spotting a change by the other team and reacting to it when you realise we are struggling? If you think i am wrong then please explain, if not then shut the **** up!! Sorry to other 606 ers about language, would be happy for your opinions on above subjects. yes even you weighty!!
What the hell are you banging on about Spanish? MM is the best manager we have had in over ten years and if you don't believe me just check out his win ratio whilst he has been here! Yes...Over 40% in case you are wondering! Evans hasn't backed Mickin the transfer market, that much is obvious so how the hell is he expected to bring in a quality keeper and a right back? The problem you have Spanish is that you are letting your hatred for Mick get in the way of the facts. Without him we would be playing League One football this season! In a year he has turned us from relegation favourites to a solid top half team! This side is still in transiition but for the first time in ten years a team is being built that will be challenging the top six sooner rather than later. I think you will be better off with all the other Mick haters over on TWTD
Not a Mick hater, nor a bum buddy, you still have not replied to my points, as per usual, oh and we have a RB so no need to buy one. Could you please let me know how much MM was given to spend as you obvioudly have inside info as i have never seenany facts and figures on that. Maybe, just maybe Mick was happy with what he had and it had nothing to do with Evans being tight, please let me know on that as you obviously know it all.
Actually, is it a sin on here to express your point of view and point out where you think things are going wrong? Obviously it is, so yes Warky i think i will go to twtd, kinda wanted to avoid that but better than here.
If Mick was backed with money in the Summer he would have brought in Stearman! I'm not going to waste anymore time on arguing the toss with you mate! You have your opinions and I have mine.
And still not answered my questions, kinda says it all. With regards to Stearman, could that not be down to very high wage demands? There, i answered your point!! ME has to plan to the future and paying high wages is a no no, it sounds like you want ME to throw money on high wages and dtop us in the ****e!
The other thing is, JWM, is that last night was more down to tactics then it was players. That lies squarely with MM - As others have stated he should have been able to react to Derbys change Mentality is also down to MM - He should not have let the players get complacent, half time talks appear to be a problem, in recent weeks we seem to have stopped playing at 45. The squad is far from perfect, but if it had remained 4-1 we'd all be lauding them as heroes.
Does anyone think MM is frightened to drop one of Smith, Chambers or Berra and that is why he is not bringing Hewitt back in at RB
Mike Thanks for answering my question, i think that reacting to a change in formation is pretty basic management and very annoying that Mick failed to react
Whilst I think you're being a bit OTT Spanish, I do see your points but in terms of results and getting the basics right Mick has done an outstanding job so it's tough to be too critical of him. But there are those who seem to think the sun shines out of his backside and he can do no wrong, i.e saying he's a master tactician and he signs brilliant players etc etc. He certainly has big limitations and people seem to think he's better at certain things than other managers we've had in certain areas, like oh Mick is a square peg in a square hole man but he's no different to any other manager IMO, he plays players out of position and also as said earlier they say he's brilliant tactically when actually this was something all his previous teams have criticised him for and it was clear he is not naive but I think his biggest failure is he's not a risk taker, you need to be bold sometimes and he just stays in his comfort zone, that is why IMO he will never be considered a good PL manager. But he has done an outstanding job here and we owe him a hell of alot and if he were to leave this season I think with the squad we've got we'd be up **** creek without a paddle. He does the basics well (which is why last nights result was so shocking), his man management is top class and he's got us playing as a team for the first time in the ME era and there's probably the best morale between players since the Burley era. I also like the fact that he works on players and doesn't just let them go by the wayside (well apart from JET who he clearly wasn't comfortable managing). My head says he's one of the best managers for this level but my heart does drop sometimes when he just doesn't take a risk and goes safe all the time but at the same time we're lucky to have him and it's nice to have a safe pair of hands for the first time in a while.
As i've said Mick isn't a risk taker which is why Chambers has continued to play there, I can sort of see why because we were struggling down that side (and still are). I'd like to see Chambers play with Berra bringing Hewitt in for the next match, although that would be slightly harsh on Smith, I think we'd have more balance. If not I don't know why we can't try to play 532, as we have 3 good CB's a host of midfielders who prefer to play centrally and full backs who like to get forward
He's failed to do it a few times this season, we're okay with our Plan A but as soon as the other team take the initiative or stop our players playing he struggles to change it, that is with the exception of the Wigan match where he did actually change it around for abit and although it didn't work we were unlucky not to get back into the game
So ptc, do you agree with the Jet decision and what about Taylor? Personally i agree with the Jet decision although i would have rather had Adomah than Anderson. Taylor, i know he needs playing time but i would have rather kept an unfit Taylor than a fit Nouble, not so sure letting him go on loan was a good move when we need good backup. With regards to being ott, i am not exactly calling for micks head but just pointing out where i think he is screwing up, sadly i get criticised for daring to do that.
PTC I actually said a few weeks ago that maybe a 352 formation may be worth a go. Any GK Chambers Berra Smith Hewitt Scuse Hyam Tunny Cressy Didsy Murphy
Like I said I think you made some valid points but I can't see how you don't rate Mick, I mean he's not my cup of tea but no doubting he's a good manager particularly at this level. I disagreed with the JET decision but that's because I like to see flair players in the team and I tend to rate players (mostly attacking) more when we're in possession than out of, clearly Mick rates players more when we're out of possession than in, it's just your perspective/philosophy on football I geuss. I like to watch talented players, players who get you off your seat and he certainly did that but I could see why Mick let him go because it was a clash of how football should be played I geuss and Mick just wasn't comfortable with him. Again at the moment I would have anyone in the team over Nouble, he looks a very poor player but aslong as Taylor is still in Micks plans, I think it could be a good thing. Nouble frustrates me though because week after week he fails to do anything when he comes on the pitch yet JET used to come on and could change the game, provide assists and score goals yet Mick puts far more faith in Nouble than JET and we don't mention how inconsistent he is, like he did with JET, saying you need to show more than glimpses, all I can say to that is at least JET showed glimpses players like Nouble and Edwards rarely show anything.
Yes I remember, I think actually it would suit us more than 442. My only reservation about it is that you generally need CBs who are comfortable on the ball to play it and I'm not sure we've got that
TBH i have never rated MM, i dont think he is a bad manager but i think he is ok but has his limitations, which i think he is proving. He gets a team working hard but that alone can only take you so far, he is great to keep us from relegation but as for taking us up and keeping us up, just dont see it!!
The thing is, i would have really liked us to take a chance on an up and coming manager or go for a foreign manager with different ideas but i can understand why we didn't as it would have been a gamble. Instead we kinda played safe in my eyes, sometimes you want to see a risk taken and need something different to get you excited instead of the boring safe option, i guess i just like to be excited!!
MM does clearly have his limitations or maybe blind spots might be a better way of putting it.! He got it wrong last night, I think we can all admit to that but lets not forget that since he has been here he has probably got around 90% of his decisions correct, lets compare that to the last 2-3 managers who probably got around 90% of their decisions wrong...MM is gonna make mistakes/get caught out again in the future, fortunately he has the experience to not let it happen to often.
