Actually all he has to do is to wander around down Spring Bank using his grandfather's Polish accent and he'll firstly be offered enough money to be able to open his own deli and secondly he'll be offered a work permit!!

It's because he hasn't been playing for Villa either. If he'd been playing for Villa they'd be able to renew his work permit on the grounds that he was contributing something.

The tax argument doesn't work either. Villa will sign another millionaire goalkeeper to replace him and then half his salary will go to the taxman

Guzans situation has been known for almost a year now, hence why city did not try to sign him up. Shame but rules is rules.

De Vries for me please on loan.

Don't suppose there is any chance of another MANU loan? There is Ben Amos who by all accounts is pretty good.
Manu have another young keeper out on loan at scunny who is due back to O/Traf soon, so maybe would allow Amos out. Although they seem a bit short in that dept.

I know we need a permanent now but maybe worth asking?

They have De Gea and Lindergaard who are both very good keepers. Unless one is injured I'm not sure how they are short in that department.

One thing in our favour is the U21s rule and the 25 man squad list. This season De Gea and Amos are both on the U21s list, next season they have to be on the senior list. De Gea is clearly going to be on it, Lindegaard and Kuszczak are already on it, if they've still got all 3 for next season are they going to name Amos as a 4th keeper in the 25? It wouldn't harm them at all to get Amos out and playing games at a decent level to find out if they want to keep him or sell him ahead of next season.
