It was about the easiest goal of all time, made possible by absolute comedy defending. The ball in was nothing special and Macca somehow ended up with a tap-in on the goal line without it touching anyone else in between. If you want to make a pro-McShane argument, praising him for this goal really isn't a good one. And yes any other player could have been there and forced it in.
But there wasn't another player to 'force' it in. So, scoring a match winning goal to earn us 3 points, in what was on paper a tough away fixture, isn't enough to earn your praise?
Sadly some will never come around to praising Macca. He could get the game winners in both the Lesta and TWS festive games and he would still be crap and a liability to some on here. IMO though, the pro-Macadonna fans have the bigger share of the vote. As long as any player gives it there all / best then i can live with honest mistakes in a game.
i think hobbs would have got his head on it in the first place. the effort that led to boro's second earlier in the season up at theirs is testimony to macca's heading ability in front of goal from set pieces!
Typical small club mentality that! We're challenging for promotion to the premiership, not languishing in mid table so we shouldn't accept mediocrity. Yes McShane is playing well for us but Hobbs is by far the better defender and McShane should be replaced with Hobbs as soon as Jack is match fit.
I'm pleased he was there, definitely. But to use such a simple goal as a reason to praise him is ridiculous. If that was the best thing he did all game then he'd have had a pretty ****e match. Luckily it wasn't but no his overall performance didn't warrant praise in my opinion. As I keep saying, if people want to support and praise every single player and in particular the ones who are unpopular, that's fine, but stop forcing it on the rest of us. On a football forum you really shouldn't be surprised to see that people have good things to say about the better players, and less good things to say about the **** players. Yes of course he could, because he's a defender and he might have ****ed it up previously at the other end. Scoring doesn't make anyone invincible, particularly defenders, and particularly when they didn't even know anything about the goal they scored.

Your not superior to anyone else on here (well maybe Tickles) so just get down off that high horse eh ?
What are you on about? All I've done there is given an opinion, and you don't like it so you thought you'd go on about not accepting other people's opinions? Isn't it you that's getting in a pissy because I was mean about McShane? I don't get why me not liking the same players as you makes you so upset.
Yeah just turn what i said back on me,why don't you. Cheap and immature, and i voted for you ffs. Must have been pissed.
Well it seems a bit odd to start going on about not accepting other people's opinions, when all you've quoted is an opinion. I don't understand your issue at all, every so often you have a random go at me for giving my views on players. It used to be Fryatt whenever I pointed out he'd missed a hatful of chances, nowadays it's McShane when I point out he makes defensive errors. It's not like I'm attacking another poster or anything, we're just debating football, what the **** is the problem?
Tea was sufficient. Now back to Mcshane. He's been fairly poor since he first signed for us,but for me he's found his feet now. 100% commited and has found confidence from somewhere, despite the many football experts in the stands at the KC. It's just that i have a feeling that some people on here,(IS might be one ) are not keen on holding their hands up simply saying, hey i was wrong ! That's a very basic error to make,so i'll let it go this time. The ginner at the back,is doing well.
Sharp going down like a sack of spuds was a piss take and all. Doubt he'd complain about that though eh?
My days Sharp's a bitter twat "I'm over the handball now,oh and 100 percent pen against leicester and against hull get over it.can't wait to score with my hand".
How can he use the phrase 'get over it' when he's the one ranting about a perceived injustice*? *even though he won a penalty which was unsporting if not unfair.
anyone wondering whether it's still handball or not, managed to pause perfectly at the exact point of contact, and as I thought I saw with my own eyes at the game, it goes in off his outstretched left hand.
