Not even the late Tony Hart could help save them by doing that. <laugh>

Latest from Foxtel about next season TR.

Optus have struck an agreement in which the matches of 6 PL clubs will be broadcast live by Foxtel every week These are the 2 Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and one other yet to be named(presumably waiting to see which clubs leave/enter the PL at season's end.)

All Beinsports football including Championship, Champions League, Spanish League etc will come back to Foxtel next season at no extra cost.

I did not subscribe to Beinsport this season so have not seen a City match.

Ps. We had Optus in Sydney but when we moved to the Mountains the only option was Austar which was subsequently taken over by Foxtel.

I was in more or less the same boat. I preferred Optus but couldn't get it here. Have been with Foxtel and Bigpond/Telstra since moving to the 'sticks' 14 years ago. I have tried checking with Foxtel for next season and I cannot find ANY Champrionship Matches scheduled.
I bought into BeIn Sports and after being assured that I would get plenty of Hull City games 'Live' I have been very disappointed in finding a mere handful. The quality of the broadcasts have been such that I have complained many times about the 'freezing' and the fact that there are periods when they keep repeating a 7 second section. I had determined not to renew next season.
We have no Broadband at the moment and I would doubt this year despite numerous promises.
Looks like a bleak year as far as 'live' broadcasts are concerned but at least we have ONE 'live' Premier League game each week on good old SBS for FREE so I guess we shouldn't grumble.

Unfortunately I did subscribe. Maybe saw 6 or seven if you include Friday's game against Wolves. Not pleasant reading...you were smart.

A guy from Foxtel came yesterday to replace our 20 year old satellite dish which had "rusted out". He was a football fan originally from Huddersfield who told me about Foxtel's plans for next season. I rang Foxtel this morning to confirm before I posted.

Broadband has just been laid in our street and promised availability is this July.

BeIn sports only broadcast 2 or 3 Championship games per week. If they have sold the rights to Foxtel then we can only assume that Foxtel will broadcast 2 or 3 Championship games too. With Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa coming down I would hazard a guess that they will get the lions share of live broadcasts. Pretty piss-weak I reckon and I most certainly will NOT be moving over to Optus.

Maybe Burnley then ? Brighton could well grab that 2nd spot. Middlesboro IF they avoid defeat @ Burnley on Tuesday will win the championship now. imo.

Indeed so. Especially when you know you have the 6 winning numbers as well.

    Wembley Hilton for me.

    Looks like it's:-

3rd place - BHA, Burnley or Borer
    4th Us (or Derby)
    5th Derby (or Us)
    6th SWFC
On that basis we have 4 more games to get Derby spied on and to find a way to keep em out/ break them down. Summat that has eluded us in the two games against them this season.
The Final at Wembley against the demoralised 3rd place team or plucky Sheff Wed.

I agree with Stewie. They've lost 9 games. Cardiff beat them a few weeks back. They seem to have us sussed, we need to work out a way to beat them.
Is 3-5-2 the answer? Saying that Maloney missed a few sitters at the end at home which would have given us a draw.
Tom did play in both games 2-0 and 4-0 so... do we have an answer?

I suspect the answer lies in your last stats there!
I'm assuming we will go out meekly over two legs and not get to Wembley anyway, but if we did somehow get there how good would it be to go up beating Burnley ?!

Yep. Thats what I'm imagining. I really fancy our chances against them. Just the tricky Derby bit I'm worried about. <confused>

The point is, should we manage to get back to the Premier League this season, could someone tell me what sort of a team we would be fielding at that level. Rumours suggest that Robertson will be gone, 5 will not have their contracts renewed and hardly a handful of the rest could be classed as anywhere near 'average' at Premier League level. Sorry to be negative but what's the point? King Tut has lost all interest and some are suggesting that he wants his money back. If rumours are to be believed then Steve Bruce will be gone too. Could we attract the necessary Manager capable of putting us on a competitive level in the Premier League next season by bringing in the 'quality' players we HAVE to have? I very much doubt it.

No Premier League club has any difficulty attracting a decent manager.
