Joe Kinnear has to be the worst appointment as manager of Newcastle United in my life time.

A complete ****ing muppet who totally shows what life under Mike Ashley really is going to entail. <grr>

David Moyes can't be happy at Everton if Pardew left I have a punt on him, he may take it better some money to spend than no money at all <ok>

Never said he was a great appointment, and I'm glad he's not here now, but he took over with us 19th, then when he broke his contract to seek medical help he left us 13th in the table. It was under Hughton/Calderwood and later Shearer that we slid into relegation form.
His job was an "interim manager" and he achieved that. Then we had the revitalisation of Hughton and the rejuvenation of the squad, it just happened in a lower league than we were expecting.

Well, that's your opinion, but it is wrong. Kinnear was an awful manager. Just look at the stats - and he brought the club down with his foul mouthed rants.

Shall we have a bet on what he's going to say? I'm going with "the other clubs pulled out at the last minute"

Stats to me say he took over with the club in 19th place and left it in 13th.
And that Ashley's alternative was Terry Venables.
As I said, any of the four managers (I include Hughton/Calderwood) that season, had they been in charge for the whole season, could have kept us up. Kinnear was a short-term appointment, to keep us up, and NEARLY succeeded.
(Not justifying his contact with the press mind)

That stat is completely misleading - we had 4 pts from 3 games under keegan, then the nightmare occurred and the team was affected meaning at the beginning of the season (where the table means very little) was skewed with us in 19th. Also, if you look at the points we had when he had his heart attack (we were in 15th), we weren't many points above the relegation zone. Hence why we eventually got relegated.

    Win %'s for managers:

    Sir BR - 47%
    Souness - 45%
    Roeder - 46%
    Fat face - 33%
    Keegan - 29%
    Joke in 'ere - 22%
Shearer (8 games only inheriting Kinnears confidence shot side) -13%
