You don't know what their business plans are, there is a difference between wanting the KC and giving sums to those good causes.

Madhog if you're sitting on the fence then why are you slagging off one side of it more than the other? Clearly you aren't sitting on that fence.

All I can base my opinion on is what has been said. I can't make my opinion on if's and but's and maybe's. As far as I'm aware the official statement out of the allams mouth said

""The reason for the dismissal relates to certain comments made by Nick in recent interviews."

Why try and say there's more to it? if it comes from the horses mouth?

Either way, I've based my opinion according to that specific, official, factual statement.

I think my posts have been quite reasonable. You know nothing about me but I can assure you I am neither thick or ignorant but that is the kind of remark that I have come to expect from you.

 

im sitting on the fence with regards to the Barmby thing , but the reason why i dont react as strongly to those that accept Allams point of view is that they are supporting the only viewpoint that publicly out there.
There is a rather vicious anti Allam bent to a lot of threads right now Almost entirely based on supposition .


As for the Steve Bruce reaction , again a lot of people were freaking out that he had constantly jumped club at the first sniff (its not that extreme) , oh and his body weight and looks.
Again there is a snide bent towards our manager and from what ive read over tha last couple of weeks , there has not been a single opinion on his management style being the problem.

 

Okay, lets take the reason for firing at face value, your way.

Barmby was reported as saying that the owners needed to give some funds to help the club improve in the summer.

Immediately on most message boards, especially here and on the supremely ******ed Hull and East Riding site, a significant percentage of the posters started calling bullshit on the Allams for lying about transfer funds being available in January.

In January most people agreed that we needed to and we all expected to have to strengthen the squad. We didn't and we performed poorly from March onwards due to injuries and lack of firepower.

All the above can't be denied, although I'm sure someone will try.

So, basically the general opinion was that Barmby had suggested that the Allams were liars, when in fact they believed he had blown a good opportunity.

Sacked for his comments seems about right for me, based on the above information. At face value, as you like to have it, justified.

In other news:

Now, I've been a season-ticket holder from over 30 years, and I remember the day when Barmby signed for Tottenham as a schoolboy. Hull City supporters were hoping he would come to City for a while before his eventual climb to stardom as he was well known already. I and many others were disappointed but not surprised that he chose money and glory over love for his struggling home team, and who would blame him. While Barmby's star was shining, Hull City went through some of its darkest years. Even so, we were proud of him and his achievements.

Eventually, while at Leeds after a loan spell to Forest when Leeds clearly didn't want him, he elected to take a pay cut and return to Hull who were now resurgent. Even though his career at the top level was over, we were extremely grateful and he repaid our love, hope and expectations by assisting the rest of the team us to the Premier League. Good lad.

To me, Ashbee, Dawson, Boaz et al deserve more respect than Barmby. Noone really gave a flying **** when Ashbee left, yet we go over the top at Barmby leaving. Get some ****ing perspective.

 

On that issue he only ever said it was opinion and based on hearsay like the rest of us, I agreed with him to be honest. But he has said his inside information has come to and end now anyway as everyone he knew at the club has been sacked recently, he never claimed the Bruce thing was definite based on facts he'd been told from within the club or anything.

 

Hell, even Bruce's own agent publicly stated only last Friday that Bruce had not been approached, so all the evidence pointed to that.

Assam is a genuine 100% nice man isn't he.

But then we knew he was.

Jimmy Saville gave / did loads for good causes and wanted to be loved . A bit like Assem really .

Even IF everything went tits up at least the Allams have tried there best .

I blame the negative media that the Allams get for some of the bad feelings some seem to have .

Assam might be a nice fella but what about the kid, I've heard a few varying reports, anyway enoughs enough we've all said our bit, we all want the Allams to stay and we all want Bruce to do well so lets leave it at that eh
