It wasn't that wiz, he hasn't learnt to bend his runs to stay onside plus he needs to look up and pass the ball to a team mate who is in a position where they are very likely to score...
OK, he may have failed a couple of passes but I saw a guy that had a couple of narrow misses, why should somebody offer £12m for a guy that you consider not yet experienced, he proved last year he is one of the best in our league, I may eat crow at the end of the season but I think the man is a huge talent and at the seasons end I will be proven correct..
Its not hero to zero, his first season was great but he has the ability to become much, much better BUT, he has to learn if he is to become the complete player We all know that his name was Jonathan "offside" Kodjia last year, he doesn't seem to learned from this or, to pass the ball to team mates. This stat analysis from last year on these 2 subjects under refers. https://www.whoscored.com/Players/68862 (characteristics at the bottom) Yesterday shows me that he hasn't taken stock of his first season...
Kodjia is rated by Chelsea fans as possibly the best player outside the Premiership. He could well score another 20 goals this season. He could put us in the play-offs. Just because we have a new stand and a Chelsea player in our forward line doesn't make us Chelsea. Get real guys Your brief as fans is not to press the self-destruct button at every possible opportunity, its to SUPPORT THE PLAYERS AND MAKE THEM FEEL TEN FEET TALL Simples
So in hindsight he didn't pass the ball once when Abraham was in a better position? Which in fairness JK probably thought I can do this myself, what all good strikers think. And just out of interest how many times was he off side, I don't think it was that many. Or are you counting the times he was coming back from an offside position so the players couldn't hoof it forward to him? Are you RR's brother?
Settle down chaps. Last year Kodija was the main man up front. After Saturday there's 'another' and I'm sure they will learn and compliment each other's play. Not that I'd ever criticise Junior, but I'd play Tomlin centrally or/and give him a free role. O'Neil has the brains and Korey has the legs to allow Tomlin that free role to get the best from our 2 brilliant strikers.
Lets be honest with ourselves here.. Kodjia is not the finished product... If he was He wouldn't be playing for us! From where I was sitting, sometimes he was too quick for the lino.. His body language was off until Abraham came on, I don't think he likes or is suited to a 1 up role. He will still score many goals this season.
I agree with this and I also hate the one up top system, especially at home. I think we have a good enough squad now to go on the front foot and go with 2 strikers, please, please please...!!!
