I like taking the piss out of RR, but he only trust me with insider info so he knows it's banter. Yes he is correct, we do need another striker I would prefer 2 as I don't see Kodjia here longer than 12 months now so I would like at least his predecessor in place now. But like others stated getting a recognised striker in as an understudy to him at the moment will be very difficult to achieve. I suspect we will go loan market once the prem clubs name their 25 players before end of August.
still its only one position (albeit a vital one) The important thing was getting the rest of them in early to bond and solidify for the coming season. The cherry on the cake can be added last of all
WELL Wilbs has been on the pitch 90 times and scored 29 goals 1 goal every 3 times on the pitch, 24 times he has been on as a sub, Last season 28 starts but do not have figures to hand how many times he was replaced but scored 8 goals ...ok not a prolific scorer last season but didn't let the team down, in fact was a great help at times ..hence a renewed contract ..should he get 8+ goals this season then hopefully his presence will have helped others get more ..... Agard, I think he needs to go to a team in div 1 that is likely to stuggle to keep up with the top 6, on loan till Jan a team like gills or Oldham where he would be the front man and play/start every week, he has not had the best of opportunities due to managers ... a make or break ..I would not let him go until after such a test
Personally think the striker situation could be our downfall. Kojack gets injured, goes on a lean spell, plus we loose him for a month with the African cup. Not to mention lf a club comes calling and turns his head he will be of. My feeling is we require two strikers and this has not been rectified,my opinion a big big mistake.
Agree that if JK gets injured, sold late in the window and not replaced or has a barren run we will struggle for goals, aside from Lee Tomlin our midfiled does not score enough, and I cannot see Gary ON changing that picture and a lot of pressure on O Dowd if he is expected to chip in every other week. Let's hope the bad things don't happen, either way it will need addressing come Jan and the African Cup.
But RR The African Cup is in January. We have Kodjia at the moment. He's not injured and he's not on a lean spell. The season may start Saturday but the transfer window doesn't shut for another 29 days. I believe we will have at least one striker in by then so not sure why you are panicking at the moment?
Not panic just yet,but that could all change in a matter of 90 minutes if he gets injured, then we are up the creek without the paddles. I really think we are light up front at present.
No we wouldn't because we would still have a week before the next league game to get a striker in. We are light up front but I'm willing to bet that will be sorted before the window shuts.
100% agree to put all our eggs in one basket, is crazy at this level. LJ and MA i hope are beavering away at finding some quality strikers out there.
Frazier Campbell? http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/...f-and-fulham/story-29575240-detail/story.html
Certainly excellent at this level, not quite made it at prem level, hope this comes off, however wolves have some serious cash to spend.
Interesting that the No.9 shirt is still vacant after the squad numbers were announced today - someone lined up for it I wonder?
