Santa Cruz COULD be a decent gamble.

I agree that financially it may be a no-go though

Have a look at Santa Cruz record. Apart from 1 good season at Blackburn its fooooooking awfull. Pretty sure he has some serious medical bills too.

Think someone put cement in his boots. Slower than molasses. Might be due to medical issues, no idea personally.

I could be wrong but did Santa Cruz not have a great season at Blackburn sign for city, get injured, then the manager changed and he never got another chance?

I just think the alternatives of Crouch, Carlton Cole, DJ Campbell, Keane, Bentner etc.. are not as good.

Defoe is the only one I can think that would be better, but I would not want to do a deal with Spurs.

There is Sturidge and Rodellega but I cannot see either of them bring allowed to leave their current club.

Vegas, think you're right on Santa Cruz. Whatever happened with his injury, he hasn't looked the same player since. The old Santa Cruz would be a big help, today's Santa Cruz? Not so sure. Paraguay don't really rate him anymore either. Afraid he's had a slide.

But, I've never been accused of high intellect, so maybe someone else can enlighten?

Would anyone take Kenny Miller, desperate to leave Turkey apparently.

Clearly not as first choice, but i always thought he was an ok player in 2 awful sides in the Prem.
