Departures kept at a minimum
Far less than I thought there would be,
Team spirit set at a premium
Players all appear happy,
A positive wind then is blowing
Around Colney just at this time,
And hopefully belief is showing
When Sunday we start on our climb,
In an unobtrusive, quiet manner
´Team Adams´ is doing its work,
Preparing, without too much clamour
Hoping it gives us a perk,
Contracts renewed and extended
All helps the factor feel good,
New faces already blended
Ready to bleed Canary blood,
So, so far so good this pre-season
Adams has handled that test,
All of which gives us good reason
To hope that he´ll handle the rest,
A good start would add to the belief
And dampen any grumbling souls,
And I´m sure bring McNally relief
Not to hear derisory howls,
With Fer and Tettey yet to feature
And Howson too not in the fray,
The squad´s looking quite a mean creature
Ready for unsuspecting prey,
But we must, in this league, be wary
Of complacency every week,
1 - 7, we all know was scary
And that was League 1, gasp and shriek,
So it won´t all just be plain sailing
By any stretch of the old mind,
But with support that is unfailing

Afternoon all, certainly can´t see that Adams has put too many feet wrong so far, either in his handling of players, or in dealing with the media. Players also seem visibly content with what he is asking them to do, so plenty of reasons to feel optimistic, the acid test will come though, if and when things don´t go quite as planned, how well Adams and the squad react - but for the present, nothing to be negative about as far as I can see. Particularly hanging on to ( at least for now) so many of last year´s better performers is a major plus.
