working on sat so I'll have to tape it. ish's goal was one of the highlights of the season. I had a few of the boys round and when he scored I hugged every one of them! I knew we were going up after that result.

I'm also really excited and looking forward to this match - should give us a good indication of how we measure up against the competition for promotion in this league. A win and 3 pts would provide us with a bit of a buffer at the top. Notts Forest away on Boxing Day will be another tough fixture.

I see Bet365 are once again covering our game - early 12:15pm ko (8:15am for me).

I'm excited! My daughter is the mascot for this game. Look out for her on the telly lads and I'll be somewhere in and around the tunnel.

i dont know about you lot, but I watched the Leicester game last week and was quite impressed with them. they had plenty of possesion in the first 30 mins but didnt make it count.
they actually played some nice 1 touch football and Burnely werent really in the game for the first 20 mins.
After that burnley upped the tempo and got back into the game well.

Any repeat of last weeks first half & we'll be dead by half time.
Hopefully the boys will turn up from the start.

I remember on Tues Oct 25th, 1966, when Leicester City came to Loftus Road in the 4th round of the FA Cup - on our way to the League Cup we won that game 4-2 after being 2-1 down, my Dad and I listened to the match on the radio, and the next morning I recall we raced one another down the stairs to be first to grab the early morning newspaper (Daily Telegraph) to read the match report.

Another 4-2 result would do nicely on Sat.

I remember another 4-2 victory on Boxing Day I think in 1974 when Phil Parkes scored but for a reason which baffles me still, the goal was disallowed. It was one of a series of monster goal kick kicks from the School end down to the Loft. Leicester had their reserve keeper and he completely misjudged one. It bounced over him and he could not get back in time literally following the ball into the back of the net Difficult to see how any of our forwards could have been interfering in play. If I recollect correctly Dave Thomas also scored directly with a corner. We had a forward in our reserves, Danny Westwood who played the second half. looked absolutely lethal, scored and never played for us again.

I remember that one Yorkie! Poor old Phil was gutted the goal didn't stand. Westwood obviously made a bigger impression on you than me though, don't remember him at all.

Also remember a classic 0-0 v Leicester at about the same time, Cup game I think, Shilton was an absolute genius all game. Pretty sure we lost the replay at Filbert Street.

I love Boxing Day games. When the Rs were away and too far to get to my Dad and I would go somewhere, anywhere else to catch a game and some fresh air/pub time - Brentford, Wealdstone, wherever. Remember once our game was called off for a frozen pitch, and we spent the afternoon scouring London for an alternative. We must have thought Shepherd's Bush had its own micro climate, as it was pretty obvious everywhere was frozen solid.

Got to beat your key rivals at home to win titles. Beat them well with style and gain a huge psychological advantage.

I remember that as well.....the original route 1 football!!!! I think they disallowed Phil's goal for offside against the forwards about a yard inside their half, the fact that the ball was no where near them didn't matter......

I was also at the League Cup game when Leicester were a top side and had Gordon Banks in goal and the Doog up front.....for some reason Banks never had a good game at LR.....

Also remember the FA Cup quarter final when they won 2-0 and had a lad making his debut and he scored twice.....for some reason we had to play in our change red and white change strip even though we were at home.....

Seeing as we are going down the QPR v Leicester memory lane, didn't Mark Nygaard score a cracker at their place some years ago. Was it Nygaard?

That 35 yard dipping volley? One of the goals I will never forget.

That's the one! I think it was quite ambitious for Nygaard but he did the job. He had mixed reviews while at LR but that goal was a cracker.

I was at that game as a 12 year-old, Kilburn, and remember thinking before the game 'they've got Gordon Banks in goal - how are we going to score?'. I was in the Loft end right at the front when Les Allen chipped one over Gordon Banks which hit the bar and rebounded off Banks into the net.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, i can use "our strikers" in a sentence that includes the words "barn door" at the moment.

Even if we have the most chances, we are unlikely to put them away, we don't make things easy, like when Burnley equalised when we should have been 2 or 3 up, even the chances after, my god!

Unless Pearsons put his boot through their arses before Saturday, i can't see us scoring, so would hope for a 0-0 <ok>

Joe Waters if I recall. His moment of fame. If any Leicester fans are still participating in the thread, did he ever score for you again? Never got a run in the first team and was packed off to the lower leagues the following season where, again, he didn't seem to do much

That's fantastic, will definitely keep an eye out for her. How does a guy go about organising that?

The club rang me to say she ( the blonde one ) had been chosen as the matchday mascot. I asked if my other daughter could be involved but they said that they could only have one. She was randomly picked out of all of the junior hoops season ticket holders and members by the computer.
However the away day mascots are not automatically chosen. You can apply to be an away mascot providing they are at least a member.

Seriously RTID, you are hoping for a 0-0 draw? Or that the Leicester strikers miss everything?

Got a Leicester mate going down for the game, called me last night to ask what a 'restricted view' would be in LR terms......had to break it to him gently.

As above, got to beat your main rivals at home, hopefully handsomely.
