If you read back, that's pretty much what I said. Ideally that would be done by signing players better than our existing first teamers, with those first teamers becoming the backups, but anything that improves our quality in depth is a step forward. Improve our first team or buy players who are first team ready - so at least as good as the current first team and competition/backup - like they have done with Nick Pope
No worries. I wouldn't be surprised to see nearly all (or possibly all) of our first teamers from last season still in the squad next season. If four of five of them have moved down the pecking order to backup, or at least have serious competition for their place in the team, then that will be a decent step forward. Evolution not revolution.
I think pope will be 1st choice come kick off I think Hugo has played LW/ CF for Reims and RW in a front 3 for u20 So maybe RW in a front 3 for us? He is a right footer Who knows…
I'm a broken record on this, but I have literally no ****ing idea what anyone thinks this Ekitike is, but a PL starter isn't one of them. Does nobody understand how **** u20's are? They're not U18's or U21's, of which Hugo has 0 caps, it's a different thing entirely! It's like pro-am.
Wasn’t a comment about how good or bad I think he is but it’s certainly someone the club is after hence the team / squad comment above IF he signs I will give him the chance to show us what he does or doesn’t have He’s been playing in a poorer team in a poorer league He could be another cabaye or another Xisco
I have no problem with us signing him if the club sees potential there, but I would hope they are also looking to sign someone ready to bang in double figures in goals.
Wonder if Nick Pope deal for £10m was the promised sweetener to get the Chris Wood deal done back in January. It's either that or sweet revenge.
Targett, Pope. McNeill in a rumour this morning. Anyone from Norwich or Watford we can get? Had to check Companies House to make sure Ashley hadn’t retained a stake.
