Virtually every time Snodgrass played the ball back to Whittaker yesterday - which was bloody frequently, it was woefully overhit or inaccurate, enabling Everton to regroup and foil any suggestion of a quick Norwich counter as Whitts had to back track to collect the ball. Half the times this happened Snodders was not being pressed overly much by a blue shirt. It was amateur and sloppy and summed up our performance on the day.
In your opinion he might have been consistently poor, in mine he has been our best winger all season. Nathan Redmond I would say has been consistently gash all season, why pick on Snodgrass instead?
I would say they have been roughly equal personally. They have both had important moments (NR vs Southampton, RN free kick against West Ham (I think) but been generally poor. I guess I criticise Snodgrass more because we saw last season what he could do - in other words, for whatever reason, he is playing well below his potential. NR I personally forgive a little more because he is young and he has been forced into playing much more often (and for 90 minutes) - more than he should have been at his age. Neither shows great intelligence as a footballer in my opinion and this is a serious failing at this level. In this respect Pilks leaves them both miles behind for all he has a tendency to drop out of games at times in a way that Snodgrass doesn't. We've missed him a lot.
His a 50/50 player for me, when he plays well his brilliant and very determined but when his poor his dreadful. My main problem is his 26 and there has been a lot of occasions where he acts how I would at the age of 16 his constantly giving it attitude, not looking bothered, fed up, sulky it's never his fault etc it's not a technique based problem but it's psychological, hopefully he'll just accept things put his head down and get on with it, or someone might have to challenge him head on.
