Mike White now saying at least Christmas. ****ing magic.... How in ****ting crikey did this ALREADY injured player pass his medical and we refuse to sign Charlie ****ing Austin cos of something wrong we found?
Feel sorry for the lad if its true, Jesus he'll be out of contract by the time he returns, if he does return, this is really starting to look like a carrier threatening injury , wish him the best of luck.
I didnt go to DQPR, can anyone confirm roughly how long he tried to carry on after the initial injury? That's now looking like the worst ****ing decision since actually signing him.
It happens sadly. Look how many injuries Jack Wilshere has had in the last 3 years. Best to just wait and see now.
I watched a feed from home and the I'm 99% sure the commentators said he went off for an inspection, came back on after a few mins, limped around a bit and then went off again. I just cant remember how long that was for.
From memory he was straight off. There's no playing on after dislocating a knee cap. They did let him walk off though.
I'm not very sure, I'm crap at remembering these things. We didn't realise it was such a bad injury at the time, but I thought he tried to get up, couldn't and went off pretty much straight away.
Craig ***an played on with a broken leg. Maybe I'm wrong then and I'm confusing him playing on with walking off, which he obviously shouldnt have done.
Isnt insurance for injuries something of a myth? I'm sure I remember something about that. Or certainly it doesnt work the way fans think and the salaries of injured players are just automatically paid. I think it might have been an audio interview but I'll try and find it.
It was Duffen who claimed that footballers are not usually insured, as it's too expensive, but there's a reasonable chance that he made it up.
I think there's a good chance he's right. How much would insurance for a player who cost £8m afford? A sizeable chunk I'd imagine. Career ending injuries aren't that common that clubs like ours would insure. We'd spend at least half our yearly budget on insurance.
