No one was saying he had signed! The linked article just says it's almost completed, but that Warnock is trying to persuade him to stay. In other words- no one has a clue.
Agreed with the final part. If Warnock was so desperate for him to stay the deal wouldn't be almost complete. As far as I know everything is still completely up in the air.
Spot on As you've said all along, Snodgrass is pretty loyal and clearly wants to stay at Leeds if he can get the right assurances, but I think the sticking point is whether he will get those. I hope Colin treats him like a referee...
I would had thought this falls into Warnock's last chance of trying to persuade him to stay at Leeds, rather than him play in any pre-season friendlies.
Shall we just all wait and see!! Theres no major rush to try and sign him. When the right bid is put on the table and NCFC confirm he is ours....then start a thread!!! Until then its just speculation. Calm yourselves.
Carrowroad.net does my head in. Absolute pap. Sources my arse. That said, while I wasn't desperate for snodgrass - I can't help hoping he signs now - mostly to see some of the Leeds fans choke on their words...
I've haven't seen any other links other than this. Not to say that something hasn't developed but it is quite wierd they seem to be the only ones running with it
Just to add a little comment, a Leeds fan on twitter who seems to have reliable contacts to Ross McCormack says that he's been told by Rosco that Snoddy is staying until at least Christmas. Not sure whether to believe it or not but that is what Snoddy and Colin have been saying since the end of last season.
I do have a feeling this isn't going to come off, would like it to but think we should probably start looking elsewhere if it doesn't come off. I have to say I would prefer Nathan Redmond but he may be more pricey and probably is not as good as Snodgrass at the moment.
Why not come out and say as much then?...Why is he dragging you lot through it if he is staying? Very very strange and I'd love to know what's going on behind the scenes. Still, your new signings should settle his worries...
Snoddy's always maintained this transfer window that he's going to hold on to make the best decision for him and his family and that even if he doesn't sign a new contract this summer it doesn't mean he's going this summer. Barring Rodolph Austin last night's signings were the squad players we need since half of last season's team is either already gone or on the transfer list. We also bid £1m for Nicky Maynard and Colin commented that the crucial signings are still to come.
A solitary million? After his 2 million switch just 6 months ago? And that was on an expiring contract...still, if it is true must mean positive news for you regarding the takeover, as I'd imagine he on some decent wages...would you be happy with Maynard? I thought he was going to shine over in east London. Not so much.
This is becoming a very boring long running saga - from last summer now! Either leave Leeds and join a PL club or come out and say you're happy at the club and staying. Don't understand footballers that string fans along - in his head he must know what he wants to do. Got no chance in signing Redmond though - would cost in the region of 10m IMO. Maybe target one of Blackpools wingers - Ince or Philips.
I'm neither here nor there over Maynard in particular, it's the intent being shown, intent that there was absolutely no sign of last summer, that I'm pleased about. As well as well as links to players like Lewis McGugan and Stephen Dobbie with Colin saying we still need 3 or so "excellent" players to come in, I'm excited about the rest of the window (regarding incoming transfers anyway ).
I remember wanting us to sign McGugan last summer...didn't he have a pretty poor season with Forest this time around? Would be a inspired signing if Colin can get him firing again.
