I'm really not sure that Hughton wants the same players Lambert did, but if it's true we can hope. Equally, I should imagine Lambert would still want Snodgrass and may beat us to it if Leeds sell. As for Crofts, it is a shame after being so impressive in the Championship that it didn't work out in the Premier League, but it would probably be better for him at a Champ club.

i think the snodgrass situation has been stirring behind the scenes for some time. not sure what stage their takeover is at, i'm sure a leeds fan will pop over and tell us shortly, but if true, i suppose a deal with crofts + cash makes sense for both parties. not that leeds will want to lose him but with just one year remaining, its scarily like the howson transfer last january. much would depend on their takeover happening and also, i'd imagine, a certain paul lambert who will also want the lad - he's made it abundantly clear he's a fan for some time. would be interesting to see us go head to head with villa for a target though!

*edit. sorry, DM posted basically exactly the same thing but beat me to it!

If Villa are indeed interested, I'm really not sure where we will stand. Villa obviously have Snodgrass' ex manager and will more than likely offer more money, yet we have Johnson and Howson and the fact he'll probably start most weeks for us.

I say he'll go to Villa if he moves anywhere.<ok>

The situation is that Snodgrass has said he's waiting to see what sort of signings Leeds make before he makes a decision whether to sign our £20kpw contract extension or not.

The takeover is reportedly in its final stages, but that's been the case for a week and a half, and it shows no sign of being announced. Once again, communication from our club to our fans has been minimal, and even if the secretive manner of these prospective owners is understandable, it's agony for us fans.

I envisage that Snoddy will wait a few more weeks and see what Warnock does with the new money. We've been linked with a few good players and a few bad ones. Hopefully it will be in Warnock's hands whether he stays or not, and it'll depend totally on our ambition. But I'm sure that if things go tits up, Snodgrass will be mindful that he has a nice little club as his safety net with an offer on the table.

All of that is what you hope is going to happen, when in reality, he's seen you buy absolute dross (Drury aside) and seen the dross being linked and now realises there is no point waiting for any money that comes into the club.

Big statement without any proof to back it up. I'm speaking with facts here - what Snodgrass has gone on record as saying, what reputable media commentators have said about the situation. Now we can debate the variables if you like - whether our signings have been good or not, but I suspect that argument is already happening on the other thread after Simon's last post. See you there.

Howson was the last player many Leeds fans said wouldn't leave and especially for Norwich.......

Correction: Howson was the last player many Leeds fans said wouldn't want to leave.

And judging by Ben Parker's revelations after the transfer, we were right. This time, it's in Snoddy's own hands, not Bates' like it was with Howson.
